MARRS - the owners of "Pump Up the Volume" went ballistic when Sybil's use of their rhythm was used in her song - they filed suit, won, and all the records had to be pulled from store shelves. I was one of the lucky few to get a copy before they were pulled from store shelves. Awesome arrangement - Sybil's voice was pure gold.

Yeah - I bought the UK press on Champion and didn't even know it was pressed on Next Plateau in the US. The UK press had it as a B-side on the Don't Make Me Over REMIX EP.

No no no your wrong bud marts used various samples from other peoples music, they took a sample from a stock aitken and Waterman record called roadblock, pete Waterman threatened to Sue them, then other people who had samples stolen where waiting to see the outcome and if successful Sue marrs. In the end the stock aitken and Waterman sample was removed from most releases. For badness stock aitken and Waterman took the basic sound of marrs and the graphics from marrs record label and used it on this Sybil remix knowing fine well marrs didn't have the funds to fight it out in court.

I had the 7inch of this in the UK. I seem to remember the sleeve cover had a soft focus photo of Sybil on it wearing a white snood lol ( or something to that effect)

I read they did it on principle as MARRS had used a vocal from their 'Roadblock' track without permission.
