longboarding since - summer of 2012.

I recently attempted some beginner freestyle maneuvers, pop shuvit & ollie, on my longboard which in turn snapped the tail off the deck. Since it was my first ever longboard, not much consideration went into the purchase other than the fact that it was a longboard. My now broken board was a complete board of amazon that didn't have interchangeable parts. In other words, the bearings, trucks, and wheels could not be as easily replaced as most boards. I'm in the search for a new board that will satisfy my crave for freestyling and dancing as well as a little cruising, but I'm struggling to find something with in a price range of $100 - $200. I'm not too well informed of which brands make the best decks, trucks, etc., but from what I can tell completed longboards typically lack the double kick tail feature most pro freestylers have on theirs. So if anyone knows of some assortment of parts that would fulfill my needs I will actually love you forever!

I’m writing this comment for advice so I want to get a longboard but a lot of people are telling me not to because I’ll fail and it kind of discourages me also I have a fear that I’m going to ask for a board and then stop practicing after a while. Any advise

Honestly you’ll never know if you don’t try it, who knows maybe you will end up getting tired of it after a while but there’s also a big chance you’ll love it! Don’t let people discourage you, I say get one and see how it goes! Good luck :)
