Nice work Macky. One reason why I don’t race XC anymore and now race enduro, is that I found it so frustrating getting stuck behind all the “roadies” on the descents and getting smoked on the climbs.

One Bike To Rule Them All !!!!!! You 2 kill it with your awesome adventures and bike rides while racing all the time. its neat to see you 2 tackle trails with different bikes all the time showing off being extra technical with different style bikes. I only have an old school down hill bike that't over 53 lbs. i love taking it on long xc rides. I use my huge Down Hill Bike for every thing, she even has a basket and bags for riding around town and going shopping. One thing is for sure i got some gnarly torque gears and some how peddling up hill is not so hard and amazing to get in shape. thx for your content!!!!!!

You finished about 5 minutes before me. I started out ULTRA slow, I was dead when we hit singletrack at the top of the Corkscrew. Just crawled forward slowly. I did the road race Friday so I just didn't have any smash power left. But it was a ton of fun! I think I'll race all four days next year.

With the new Shimano XTR you don't really have to because it shifts so well under load. But normally, yes, you have to let up a bit right after you shift to let the gear actually change.

Another nice vid. Would be nice to know, and added in vid, your finish versus how many competitors. I used to occasionally face hare scrambles(moto) in C vet class. I'd be happy if I'd finish in top 75%. 39th out of 78 made me much happier than 39th out of 40. :)

Hey that really took me back to my racing day in the early 90's. I went to my first NORBA national race and wanted to experience it all. I raced all 3 disciplines. XC Sport no age groups at that time 34th out of 100+, Downhill also Sport 32 with a crash out of 100+ (felt good about that because I crashed on the first jump), and DS there were no categories beginers race with pros. I lost first round, I had to race a pro BMX guy I forget his name now. The first run he beat me by 100+ yards. The second I was at the last gate as he crossed so better. I only ever did one more DS. So I feel your pain of a full weekend. All of mine was over 2 days.
