To me that was not a clear goal scoring opportunity as the ball was in the air. When the ball dropped anything could have happened. But the contact was very physical but to me was a Yellow v-card.

Leagues been won. Might win the final though. Not a good season for us when we finish behind clubs like Mariners and Wellington.

Terrible red card decision. No clear goal scoring opportunity. Barely a foul if at all.

Not a send off.... the player was not in a clear goal scoring position...in front yes but still had to bring the ball down and control... a foul yes... a yellow card yes ....shame the decision destroyed the game as a spectacle.... as for the pitch surface..... a disgrace.

Yea agree, wrong decision to give a red card. He was outside the box and had a lot of work to do to get into a scoring position.

Sorry mate, but that’s a red card any day. Even though he had to bring the ball down, if that defender wasn’t there, then he is 1 on 1 with the keeper which is the definition of an “obvious goal scoring opportunity”. Also outside the box = red, inside the box = yellow for DOGSO

@@lachlanplayz3344ok sure, but you can't compare it to noone being there, you have to look at whether a defender that was there would have made that not an obvious goalscoring position. The striker is heading away from the goal, he has it coming at his chest. You've seen the a league, if there's no defender at lot of times that goes too far off the chest or not far enough and the chance is lost. I'm a sydney fc fan but if that happened to us I'd have been livid, it's one of the worst calls I've seen and while I'm thankful for the benefit I think that ref and the var need to be given the rest of the finals off, it's not good enough.
