It’s generally how a restaurant with a French brigade is set up: A chef like Sydney and/or Carmy comes up with the menu and teaches the kitchen how to prepare the food before service, then leaves the actual cooking to the sous chef and the line cooks while they call the orders to make sure everything runs smoothly; and they will check the food to see if it’s ready to serve to the patrons. Back in the Season 2 finale, you might recall Sydney jumped on the line when they needed someone.

finished the bear season 3 and..this was underwhelming ngl. the restaurant scene still worked but it was missing some key dialogue between the characters and it seemed like carmy and syd was kept separate purposely. Some great moments still #TheBearFX

Carmy is the definition of fucking around and finding out. If he keeps it up, he’s gonna lose Syd I can already feel it. I swear the writers are fucking with us. He better be on his knees for her in season 4. #TheBear

syd and marcus will always be my favorite characters of the bear, but the faks ended up being my favorite characters for S3. this scene alone is just so good

I mean I do think it’s innovative for a dark skin black woman to be the romantic lead esp in this kind of show. I get people not wanting it which is fine, but sometimes it feels like (some) folks are just really averse to their white boy of the month character being w a character like Sydney. They have undeniable chemistry imo, but racism is strong lol. Also I feel like romance in general is looked down upon. We literally get no good romance with chemistry these days. And internalized misogyny (with romance seen as a feminine genre) means a lot of folks seem to feel superior for not caring for it.

Yup. Head or sous is expeditor. Our head was usually on the back doing paperwork and schedules. Sous was expeditor. Never wanted to move up cuz you do less of the fun stuff aka cooking on the line.

he might even get it worse, lose out on the partnership, and regret, at least I hope that happens if she does leave. Just don't understand the way they portray her character and have her talk the way she does. Or if she takes liberty with her character and chooses to come off as sarcastic, but it's weird.

Carmy is better off with no romantic interest. Claire isn’t it. Dull character tbh. As for Sydney, it’s honestly way better off being a person working with someone they truly admire and hopefully Carmy comes round to giving Sydney the respect she deserves. Can’t see the two of them together

I just really don’t care for Sydney in general. And I agree, she takes how much she actually does need carmy totally for granted. She’s gonna take that other job and be in way over her head and suddenly understand Carmen’s panic attacks and intensity and realize that she’s been unfair. Don’t get me wrong, Carm is toxic AS FUCK. He’s judgmental, he’s arrogant and he’s self important. But she doesn’t get it.
