Great shot of the South Steyne at 5:07 onwards! I'm glad it's still around but not for long unless they get help restoring it and an accessible berth.

I was living at Manly between 1966-68 and 1970-71. Used to ride all of these ferries - wonderful on a hot Sydney afternoon, turning around Bradley's Head. Fond memories of the Port Jackson and Manly Steamship Company too - before it was sold to Brambles.

Another great contribution by Graham Reid. Captures the feel of the harbor. Myself and my kid brother spent a lot of time around the harbor and riding ferries. Sometimes to Manly, sometimes just to Luna Park. That was between 1968 and 1970 because my parents had a hotel in the city. The poor old Baragoola has just sunk and been scrapped sadly. I recall in 1964 it was the only one that still had a little shop on it. Can't remember if that remained until she was decommissioned.

Great record of Sydney at its most charming and liveable. Truly a golden age between about 1965 and 1975. Pity however about the irritating ‘olde time’ piano music which seems more suited to the 1920s. Very enjoyable video with the sound turned off.

The pictures are from a silent film. Some like the added music and some don't . The main thing is the pictoral record. The first time I visited Sydney was before the trams, steam trains, steam ferries finished and much more. I think those were even more intersting times than the later 1960s

That would be because we didn't live beyond our means to anywhere near the same extent as now. Accelerating debt now means phenomenal interest which is now unpayable. and causing incredible inflation because of incredible unscrupulous speculation, resulting in unaffordability of essentials such as houses, with resultant discrimination, oppression and economic collapse. Greed and self interest is the enemy. Unpatriotic governments representing unelected oligarchy and elitists who own the 'unconstitutional' political parties, and who are represented in parliament by their vetted and chosen politicians are the major problem. The current oppression of rights is an outcome of all this. Yes it was great until the 1980s until Australia was purposely sold out and looted..

1968 a horrible, violent year internationally; only saved right at the end by Apollo 8.
