Craig has always had a great fighting style. I met him a couple of times when I was a youngster. He was one of my all time heroes, would be great to meet him again now that i'm older. Well done you legend Craig!

Thanks for the kind words about the boat and motor. It's a great combo.

@liondancerulez The marker is in Sydney Harbour. You can see the Manly ferry pass in the background, for further indication of which marker it is.

Try soft plastic stick baits. The 5" Tsunami Rattling Stick Baits in Clear Glitter colour are great for surface feeding rat kings, Aussie salmon and tailor. Rig them unweighted on a 5/0 worm hook and retrieve them across the surface. If you can't spot fish then rig them on a weighted jig head and let them sink for a while before you begin the retrieve. The big kingy in the video was caught on a 9" Tsunami Stick Bait. It's a big soft plastic for when you want to target bigger fish.

@liondancerulez If you're land-based fishing only, then you might need to catch some live squid and try fishing with that for kingies. You might be able to catch squid using squid jig lures around the jetty pylons you currently fish, keep them live in a bucket and fish them unweighted near the jetty pylons.

Awesome!! Love it when a plan comes together. Personally, I thickened up!

What size rod and reel is Craig using. I'm after a rod which can handle casting a 9" stickbait, the 3-6kg rod I have at the moment just won't cut it

Do you rig that up to the hook the same way you would when using regular soft plastics?

@liondancerulez Fishing early, around sunrise, is best. And try casting the stick baits at all the markers in the harbour, not just the one depicted in this video. The kings move around a bit. Good luck!

Try a Rovex Carbontec 701SP 15lb rod matched with a Fin-Nor Offshore Spin 4500.

Well.. this just sold me on not needing a heavy set up.. here I am being told to get a reel with 60lb braid and so forth and you land it with half that..
