This is tracking to build speed and endurance running at high speeds over distance. if you don't know the sport, don't try to act like you do. i ran at a very high level, coached at a very high level and am enjoying watching her as I have done since she was in high school as I did with Mu and Rai Benjamin who actually comes form my old high school. A half a second reaction time would also be very visible to the naked eye which was not the case here. Go and watch Blakes terrible .2 second reaction time from his 19.26 and then multiply that by 2 and a half times and then picture how bad your start would have to be to get a half a second reaction time. Think my man doesn’t understand how fast you have to be to split 48 low on a relay leg and 48 mid on open 400. Her running 22 flat is what anyone who knows track would expect. Maybe if she dipped into 21.70 would I be surprised but you can’t be serious here

Based on that effort it appears she'll go very close to 48.00 for 400M flat over coming months, with an outside chance of dipping slightly under, which hasn't been done outside the dubious world records of the 1980s. Even her 400M hurdles WR looks under threat. Another Bolt in her event.

Should be a great final in Paris. Femke Bol has improved a lot since they last raced, and ran 22.6 on a 200m short track earlier this year, which means she could have probably run around 22.3 on a normal 200m track with less bends. So she also has the flat speed.

"Subsequent" Olympic Games, not "preceding." "Preceding" means "to come before." SML is expanding her comfort zone, and the rest of women's track needs to take note. Unless the 400 final at the Trials goes completely off the rails, the USA entry into the women's 4x400 should be spectacular.

Such a dominant performance, Abby Steiner and Gabby Thomas must be feeling a little relieved that Sydney McLaughlin isn't intending to continue competing in the 200m... but then, why doesn't she? Still curious why she & her coach want to limit her at the international level to the 400mH, where she is already the GOAT, instead of pushing the envelope in the 200m and 400m? She has already proven herself to be a legitimate contender, if anything would make her an athlete for the ages it would be winning in multiple events.

Syd is a straight up alien . If ever anyone has seen a more complete female sprinter in the history of athletics including flo jo and the current big 3 from jamaica Id like to hear who it is. The woman had not competed in a 200 m in 6 years. She lines up in the box with imo the 2 greatest 200m sprinters the USA has , and in a workman like , easy as you please manner torches both while posting a personal best of 22.03 ! Not even close. Honestly.. nothing terribly shocking here in as far as Syd is concerned. this woman is the final word in being prepared to compete. What I found astounding was Gabbys baffelingly slow and honestly dismal showing. Please , someone who was there tell me she was holding back.. dogging it for some reason known only to her , god and her coach. Its a forgone conclusion after seeing her in LA that if ... she wanted it , yea she would own the 200m field . And when I say field I mean the entire World. every single thing she decides to compete in ... Its lights out. Will miss very much seeing her astound the World with the first undoped sub 48 clocking in the 400m if the rumors prove true that she will once again defend her 400m hurdles title in paris. It isn't really necessary although any chance to see Syd and Femke on the track at the same time is simply must see. The highest drama the world could hope for is that Syd doesnt defend in the hurdles and locks in on the 400m sprint. Why ? Because its the one event that she can and should compete in where the outcome is not a forgone conclusion . Love me some Femke Bol...not a snow balls chance in hell she beats Sydney in the 400 h. The 400m sprint however... Oh yea ..this is definitely one she could lose with the likes of Paulido , and shana miller Ouibo to deal with. But if she jumps in .. she wont lose. As I said , she IS the final word in preparedness

Does not work like that, her 200 pb before this was 22.39 in 2018 - this is not much better for six years onward and a lot more improvement in he 400mH times primarily based on her stride pattern not her speed. And given the new coach it's somewhat expected. She has always been fast!
