Sydney nightlife has diminished due to the lockout laws implemented in the 00s. In the 90s it was amazing. Back then there was a club thumping on every corner. It was such an alluring nightlife. Sydney did not sleep then. Hopefully it will get back to it's old glory.

Sydney used to have 24 hour nightlife with multilevel nightclubs and live music music venues. In 2015 the government introduced lockout laws across the city and killed nightlife and live music. The lockout laws ended just as Covid lockdown started in Sydney so the city had seven years of restrictions on people going out in the city. Now in 2024 it is pathetic compared to what it was a decade ago and a shell of its former self. It's incredibly sad. It used to be a true international city now it's boring. There are a few places to eat that close early and there are a few bars and a few nightclubs but it is nothing compared to what it used to be.

Sydney is a hellhole now I spent 2 nights there in 2022, over priced hotels, Asians all over, homeless bums, I even walked Kings Cross and could not find one hooker or drug dealer and this was at 1am. Certainly not the place it was in the 80s or 90s.
