I know I’m getting older when the trip down memory lane”lane” becomes a freeway! Having driven buses in Sydney (mainly from Burwood, Leichhardt and finally Enfield) for many years in the 80’s, this video was of real interest. Personally I’d like to see anything with Sydney’s bus fleet pre-90’s with a groovy soundtrack maybe Barrie😄

Good to see Mr Whippy" 3520 and a pristine 1923, the first of the Mercedes introduced which spelt the end of Leyland's dominance. Would like to see a dedicated Sydney bus history Barrie, the old days to the present. I liked the double decked Atlanteans, many of which ended up in private hands in Newcastle on the steelworks and school runs in the 1980's onwards. One even ended up with a religious group, Hari Krishna's I think? And was homed around the Kings Cross area. Nice teaser there Barrie.

Hi Dave, it was fun putting this one together but truthfully I was a little out of my depth of knowledge of the topic, never being a bus enthusiast myself but could definitely see myself doing another more in depth vid with much research of course. @@trainspottingwithbarrie I have some old PTC of NSW and Urban Transit pictures of Leyland Leopard and Mercedes Benz taken in the early 1980's I think, they are in a shoe box stored somewhere. I don't know if it's possible to scan them and send them to you via email attachment?
