The reason they stopped and pushed it back into the station was due to the chain connecting the 2nd and 3rd carriages (from the other end) had snapped, so they had to re-connect the carriages to be able to push it into the storage siding on the far left

There gonna have to fix Couplers, pantograph bent , replace richmond barrier, Fix coupling "springs",Front of waratah, Clean blood in interior, fix wheel joints if needed sounds like past $100,000+ for repairs

At least they are trying to remove the set from the Platform, but watching was a bit nerve racking in not knowing what's going to happen. Sure hope the line will be alright for Monday.

The reasoning made me go "um, what?" when I read it: "It's been timed optimally to cause maximum damage and maximum inconvenience" ...yeah, isn't that part of the point of a strike?

"maximum damage and maximum inconvenience" The old saying. "The squeaky wheel gets the oil" is very appreciate in this sort of issue. You wont get anything by not protesting. Its in fact not about an EA. The entire negative union campaign has been run by the government using the press. Sunday evening for example. All the trains were already in place for Monday morning. They were because on Sunday morning the normal Sunday timetable operated using the correct trains. It was the previous Thursday that they government night decided to run the Saturday timetable. They then had Friday, Saturday and all day Sunday to balance things. Yet for some strange reason they decided to close down the network 3 hours early.
