Not anymore. They stopped running in 2012 i think.

It is unlikely however possible. There was an 8-Car V-Set timetabled to run an actual passenger service to Kiama earlier this year (2021) for a special cycling event, however due to the event being cancelled (due to rain), the service was also cancelled. The service would’ve initially ran Blue Mountains Line services as per usual but instead of heading to FMC for day stabling would’ve ran down to Kiama and back. With the D-Sets entering service soon, it is unlikely it would happen again as there would be enough H-Sets to cover the South Coast Line even when extra services are required. Never say never though.

Because Newcastle is a small city and only 2 lines and a light rail stops there. The light rail was filmed in other videos. And also, this is the biggest train station in Newcastle.
