I think Jay should have a KZbin channel with his style, work, workouts, fishing and POV! Being much older, I find that when you move to a new place, it’s beneficial to use the space first before making changes(especially kitchens). Can you get a garbage/recycling unit for under your sink? I would put all the cleaning supplies in the laundry room in a caddy designated for the kitchen; so when you need it, all of the kitchen supplies are together. Your new home is gorgeous, and things can always be changed when needed. Congratulations!

Lots of congrats on the new house!! I would maybe just store cleaning supplies in a laundry room together with the vacuum and mops or maybe shelves in the garage for back-stock supplies including cleaning. I agree with another comment that maybe a built-in trashcan in the island would be a good idea. I don’t know how I feel about storing trash near food ;)

I keep cleaning supplies in a cupboard about my washer/dryer, vacuums and mops and the ironing board in a closet by themselves, trash in a cupboard in the kitchen island!

if you have a hallway closet or a closet near your front door, your could always put your vacuum In there :) then your trash bin can go in the pantry!

Love the new house!! Do not put your garbage in your pantry lol if you have some nasty wet stuff to throw out or coffee grinds, just imagine the mess on your floor carrying it from your kitchen to the pantry. Kitchen should be designed based off your working triangle which includes your appliances and sink. Under cabinet garbage is the way to go - can get ones that have multiple bins that slide out

Sweetie, #1, the people who are throwing out the negative comments, I guarantee you that they couldn't have designed/built their own home at your age. Heck, for a lot of people, regardless of their age, couldn't have done what you have accomplished. #2, I agree with other's who have commented about the mop/vacuum being in the laundry room, and garbage can in a cabinet. I know that the type of can you are getting, is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but if you can spare the space to put it out of site, then it won't be in the way. Plus, it seems like every time you need to throw something away, walking into your pantry seems like it's not readily available. Congrats on your beautiful home, and you have the right mind about the complainers. You keep doing you! 💕

Can I tell you, girl, that you are such an amazing, inspiring person in all you do (and Jay), and y’all’s house is just beautiful? I love the design. It is going to be a sanctuary of wonderful memories and happiness. Don’t worry about what people on TikTok or online say about your design of closets and windows, etc…they are being ridiculous, lol…as you said, it is not their house, but yours & Jay’s to enjoy for years to come! As far as you saying you didn’t think through all the decisions, y’all had so many to make while working, and I’m sure it was overwhelming at times. You can figure out things as you go about the right spaces for mops, brooms, etc. It will all come together in time, and you will learn what you want different next time when that comes. Is there a small hallway coat closet that can be turned into a vacuum/broom/mop storage closet instead of with your food pantry items? But it looks so amazing to me. Yes, Jay, on your own channel with your POV. Meanwhile, enjoy the fruits of y’all’s labor. I’m so happy for you. I encourage you & Jay to pray God’s blessings and protection over y’all, the home, and land-I encouraged Michelle Reed (vlogger on KZbin) to do this as well for her new home. We have done this with each new move. The ketchup in your pantry made me laugh. My husband used to complain that all I’d buy were condiments & cleaning supplies & no meat or food. 😂 (I shop differently now!) What a blessing that you & your sister get to work together & live so close. I miss my sis who is several states away. Ty, Sydney, for showing more workout clips!
