The style of house they built is called a "double shotgun" and they are common in New Orleans. They normally would have been traditionally two units next to each other, but many have been renovated into one larger home (yes, often with two front doors)

To add context, a "shotgun" house usually has a front door and back door that line up with no walls blocking the line of sight between them. (At least in the Midwest; I'm not sure if that's how it looks inside the New Orleans version.)

I like it! But i do think that the “coastal” theme wasn’t really present if not with a few art piece, probably a more sandy-colored wood floor would have tied the aesthetic better

I love the way you used different textures to pull everything all together. That aesthetic was definitely something to try and pair with orange, but you did so well! I'd love to see this expanding to more EA built houses!! 🫶

the base game house is actually what's called a shotgun house! it's a style found primarily in New Orleans, Louisiana. they typically have doors in the front and back for good airflow, as it gets very hot and humid in the southern US. this particular style is a double shotgun. 😄

This houses are common in New Orleans. I think they call them railroad houses! They are gorgeous! I’m not sure I remember correctly, but I think they have 2 entrances as they were divided in 2 homes… I think… really not sure! But that’s what I think inspired the EA build!

I would argue that is "too orange" on the outside. Personally I would have gone for a beige and a blue as for wood lines cats and dogs wallpaper with orange wood furniture and windows. HOWEVERR, I recognise this is YOUR interpretation and I still like a lot the inside!

I live in New Orleans, and the two front doors are pretty common, especially if an old double shotgun house was converted into a single family home. A double shotgun house is a side by side duplex, and oftentimes, if the house gets renovated into a single family house, they'll keep the two front doors to maintain the historical look of the home. The back/ second story of a house in this shotgun style is called a camel back. Since Willow Creek is New Orleans inspired, I have to say that overall EA did a good job capturing the look of an old New Orleans house.

Houses like this with the two front doors are really common in Louisiana (and Willow Creek was based off New Orleans architecture) and are usually a duplex. One door usually just opens to a staircase that brings you to the upstairs apartment. Or if It's one floor, they just kinda split it down the middle.

I watched someone renovate this build before (forgot who) but they said there is a historical reason for the shape of the house, they were meant for people working in the mines and they usually had at least two apartments inside them (hens the two doors), so the apartments were narrow and long :) Good job decorating tho🧡
