I feel like people stigmatize dupes but for me, I pause on large purchases that are trendy or when I feel the overconsumption mania setting in FOR ME. (It's something I struggle with LOL! Vintage stores our here in CA, & in the South, are called Antique stores. Thrift stores are 2nd hand, cheap stores, where the owner doesn't pay anything for their inventory. Consignment stores, are where the store gets a cut of the selling price, & they're more expensive, & some, like "My Best Friend's Closet," are overpriced. Pawn shops also sell antiques, & jewelry @ 2nd hand prices.
