As a nation we spend millions of rupees on constructing homes but fail to buy basic fire safety equipment that costs merely a few thousand. We prioritize buying items to impress others but not to keep our families safe. I urge you all to take this issue seriously as it may save your families from a fatal incident and also request the government to launch a national fire safety campaign which would result in a safer Pakistan.

Hi Mr Owais i would like to share some information regarding gas detectors, Gas detection will depends upon the density of the flammable gas in comparison to density of air, if it is heavier it will travel downwards from the point of leakage if lighter will travel upwards, so install detector to the nearest point of possible leakage depending upon the density of flammable gas being used in house hold, and the most important point is don't ever switch on or off any electrical switch in that cas, electrical switches usually make a spark it is usual in their operation, but that spark is enough to give a source of ignition so its recommended to used a battery powered gas detector or electrically wired with enough distance from switch to detector, that is not the case in your detector and sometimes if alarm goes on detector has to be reset therefore please be cautious... You are welcome....

Very good initiative. We lack awareness about such safety measures in Pakistan. Indeed one of our common friend just died with burn injury due to gas leakage in his office kitchen. Staff opened kitchen in morning while smoking cigarette and four people were badly injured with two in icu and one already died 😢. May Allah protect us all. Ameen

Brilliant job awais bhai , We too have fire extinguisher at our home .and regularly check for its pressure .Infact our all family members have practice it one time so that we can use it incase of any incidence. We also used it to counter fire in kitchen of our neighbours, they were making ghee out of milk cream and it got fire,they hit it with rod and oil along with fire spread in whole kitchen then they called for help and my father used extinguisher to counter it . We don't have one in car ,I will ask my father to consider having small fire extinguisher in car also .

Gas detector must be Explosion Proof. If not then it can be a potential source of ignition and can cause a fire in case of gas leak. So check the specifications of gas detector. Need to check it's calibration every month and during this check, make sure there is no source of ignition in kitchen even mobiles.

Hands down this is top top content 💯 We had a kitchen fire in our home when my mother left water to boil to catch quick Maghrib Prayer. When she came back unfortunately the fire had already caught wooden cabinets. Fortunately for us we had high pressure water hose outside kitchen and we used our water motor to put it off quickly before it would have spread to the entire home. Nowadays we try to exercise caution but aren't satisfied at peace. This is a must especially in kitchen areas.
