Sure, in large amounts it could even result in life threatening situations, but healthy lungs are capable of cleaning dust and residue out of them that is inhaled from just floating in the air like that. Unless there's something toxic or carcinogenic in the powder itself, I think it'll be fine. I'm sure he studied it a bit more than we saw off camera before deciding to do what he did.

holding that thing while it blew up in front of your kid was pretty hard to watch dude. I'm super glad he didn't have to watch his dad willingly blow his hand off that day. Also you should probably have at least a dust mask if not a proper respirator for all the cool experiments you do. we'd hate to hear about you getting tragically poisoned by something you came into contact with making a video.

that wasn't black powder but actually flash powder. its faster and only needs very slight compression to "explode". so even if compacted a little too much in a pile it might be dangerous. its incredibly loud when "detonating" and also pretty sensitive to static electricity. however its NOT an explosive. black powder and flash powder just burn very quickly and produce a lot of gas very fast, thats why they need confinement to "explode". an actual explosive (like tnt or whatever) would absolutely explode even if its just in a lose pile on your table (and as a result possibly send shrapnel your way). keep that mind.

Inhalation is one of the biggest dangers with fire extinguisher powder. It is very irritating to mucous membranes and may cause difficulties with breathing if inhaled in large enough quantities. Usually, in a small fire situation where you would be using one of the commonly seen extinguishers, there would not be enough dust to be breathed in. However, if it does happen, you should go to the hospital. The dust may coat your lungs on the inside, which can prevent oxygen from reaching the rest of the body.

I really love these type of videos. It's nice to see who will be up for a Darwin award in the near future. For those of you who are curious, that yellow power is either Monoammonium Phosphate or Ammonium Phosphate Monobasic. If you bother to look up the M.S.D.S. for these chemicals this is what you will find: 4. First Aid Measures Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention. Ingestion: Induce vomiting as directed by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention. Skin Contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean shoes before reuse. Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting upper and lower eyelids occasionally. Get medical attention. So now that you have exposed yourself, your son, and your buddy to these chemicals don't cry if you get some kind of medical condition as a result. These products were meant to fight fires, not provide some cheap entertainment for a fully grown yet adolescent male who can't live without the attention of others. I have to wonder what your wife and neighbours think about your antics........

Yes, it's a joke for those who know. I've burned a tank down to the acetone plenty of times, but never tried to drain it out. How are they purged?

The safety plugs are for an over-temperature event rather than drainage. The asbestos is not the problem, it's the acetone.

No. The LiPo-pack in the Note 7 does not explode - it just starts burning. A battery with no hard container will just burn violently and not explode (like when they removed the black powder from the containment)

This is one of the best prototype of the types of extinguishers that are safe for communities as well as many private and public sectors as well as residences and communities, be it buildings and condominium that always prevents, anticipates the cause of fire, aside from the water hydrants, it is to use the environment friendly ones such as baking sodas and compound nutrients. Some thoughts: 1) The term "Don not try this at home" was used by professionals showing something dangerous on TV, because people at home don`t have the right safety features. Now it is used by people who try stuff at home, which takes the sense out of it. 2) It is very bad parenting to ignore a child screaming "You dont know how scared I am right now!" 3) Spilling the powder into the garden is another sad proof for a European like me for the fact that many Americans don`t care about the environment at all.

in a fire estinguisher , sodium bicarbonate mixes with sulphuric acid to form carbon dioxide which cuts off the fire , where as in this burning the string breaks a wall and mixes the both ingredients and boom

You should be more careful talking about brands, Elide Fire has lots of certifications and videos that support it. While AFO, usually don't work at extinguishing fires. You should try both of them to extinguish fires! I'm sure it wasn't on purpose! Good luck!

+Mateo Guiulfo Perez-Egaña we tried both. Afo didn't work as well as Elide. Elide was crazy expensive though. Not qualified to give a full review. Just wanted to blow some up and see what's inside:)

AFO is Nice Tech - Not as powerful as a full fire extinguisher - but in a pinch, it could puff out a fire long enough for you to run out the door or get to a window and jump out, and that's GREAT !
