@@skyreach669 i think we, the fans... and record labels are to blame for that. These bands come out with bangers that they had time to write, perfect, and record as they saw fit. The fame comes, and now were demanding them on tour and releasing new music. The label makes them drop something every other year (idk that for fact, just an example) and suddenly you get watered down music with the lack of creativity the first few albums had. Just my two cents, not that it matters.

I can't believe this is the same band that made Whom It May Concern, and I mean that in the best way possible. Help! fits in with some of the best albums of the year (Point Oblivion, Skeleton Youth Forever) while still being unique and a testament to Sylar's progress as a band. It's not a competitive response. These dudes started out before issues. They've got 3 albums, the first they put out on their own. Issues is bigger because their vocalists come from notable previous bands.

you can't even say they're competing because issues formed one year after sylar did. Sylar only released 2 albums and 2 eps. Which is the same as issues with 2 albums and 2 eps. I understand that tyler and michael are a huge reason why they seem to reach fame quickly but they still had that possibility of failing because of their style of music. Which people either take to it or not. It seems like they have because they're #14 on billboards alternative rock albums.

It's not traditional "As I Lay Dying" metalcore that I am comparing it to, it's the more modern "djenty" metalcore.
