Ironic; Charlie had the perfect recall ability but was a waitress. She could of been a brilliant engineer, surgeon, lawyer, etc. She led a simple life and was extremely content with it, and was surrounded by people that loved her dearly. You don’t get characters like this out of thin air, thank you to the writers/any else involved.

True but she did say that her ability only developed recently so she would have been a waitress before her ability manifested. But she was a really well written character and was played brilliantly by the actress

Funny thing, in the pizzeria near place where I used live worked a waitress with near perfect recall, you could go there like once a year and she would not only recognize you, but also remember exact orders from all your visits including the very first one. It was eerie.

The thing about it is, Sylar stealing Charlie's ability couldn't have been anymore pointless. Sylar's one true ability that even allows him to steal powers is Intuitive aptitude. Basically to know how anything works. Why would he need a power to *learn* things if his power already has him learning it at a much faster rate than Charlie? Hell, when we saw the conversation Charlie had with Sylar in season 4, he even explained what Charlie's power was just but looking at her. Whatever he examines, he instantly knows hoa to work to it's fullest, why take a *learning* power?

Maybe, but Sylar's power comes with a compulsive hunger for power and knowledge. Plus, after meeting Brian Davis, he thought to be the only one who deserved to be special.

Enhanced Memory is the power to rapidly learn and retain superhuman amounts of information, Intuitive Aptitude is the power to instantly learn and understand the complexity and exactness of organisms, objects, etc. without the need for long-term or special education. You can learn something but also you can forget so if sylar want to have all the powers he needs something to help him to remenber evrything so he can use it when he want.

I wish they showed Sylar getting more powerful with some of these abilities he stole. I don’t think there is a single scene of him after this episode that illustrates his use of Charlie’s learning ability. Sucks. Or that guy that could turn stuff to liquid.. like why didn’t he use that power when people fought him or his? He could turn the weapons and doors into goo!
