The first time I have seen an interview with Sylvia Kristel, she is very intelligent, speaks several languages and by doing soft core movies was able to circumvent the hypocrisy of Hollywood and still make mainstream films, it's to bad she fell victim to drugs and alcohol. Her beauty is timeless and unlike Jane Mansfield or Marilyn Monroe she had so much more to offer than overt sex appeal.

Wow! She was so intelligent and could defend herself so intelligently! Too bad her career did not go on after Emmanuelle so well. Maybe since Emmanuelle was too much for the hypocrite American audience and reviewers. The sexuality of women was kind of taboo back then. The film industry put her in a certain form and did not allow her to shift into more serious films. She was a good actress and a natural beauty. Too bad she did not have a chance to show her skills during her film career. And too bad she fell victim to drugs and alcohol. However, Emmanuelle will remain a classic and she will be remembered.
