I've recently bought one of these and have now done about 750Km on it. Three things attracted it to me over and above the others I considered - the Vespa 300 and the Kawasaki 300. One was the under seat storage which will allegedly take 2 helmets - it doesn't take two full face helmets, just the half-helmets they allow in some parts of the world. But it does take one full helmet plus a motorbike coat and gloves. Second was the alternative foot positions - I have a bad hip which has made me change from riding a motorbike. Vespa and Kawasaki don't have the feet forward position. Third was the 5 year warranty with the SYM. BUT be careful, the terms and conditions for this are stupid for a north European climate. To adhere to the conditions for the 5 year warranty you are supposed to have the scooter serviced at a SYM dealer (that condition is illegal under UK law) and at least every 6 months. So you have it serviced in the Autumn (Fall), put it in your garage for the winter and then have it serviced again in the Spring before you use it again. That requirement is stupid and isn't going to happen so you can forget the 5 year warranty, it's rubbish. I have poked around underneath to explore the build quality and I was surprised how impressed I am at what I have seen. The steering head bearings are huge, much bigger than even a 750cc bike, and even the bearings for the side and centre stands are unusually big. All the wiring plugs and sockets are proper waterproof automobile quality, far far better than I had on a Kawasaki motorbike I once owned - until the whole wiring loom had to be replaced from corrosion. Everything on the SYM is bolted together well, the exhaust is made of thick metal and hasn't discoloured in the 750Km I have done. It seems to do about 80 MPG which I suppose is OK. Side and frontal winds do not affect the steering. It is surprisingly easy to ride feet up at very low speeds, the balance is so good I hardly have to put my feet down in traffic. I would say though that so far as I am concerned there is one significant problem, and such a problem that the day after I bought it I phoned the dealer I got it from and told them I didn't like it and asked how much they would give me in part exchange for a different bike. The problem for me is the seat which is far too low and hard given the standard suspension setting. I am 5ft 9 ins tall with an inside leg of 31 inches. I weigh about 13 1/2 stone, or say 80kg. The dealer offer was too low so I determined to resolve the issue. I went to a mobility store - the kind that sells wheelchairs and other items for disabled people, and bought a 3 inch thick wheelchair cushion which came in a zip-up cover. I removed the cover and cut the foam pad to more or less the shape of the rider's seat and went for a ride. I did 156 miles today with the increased seat height and my rear end is in far better shape afterwards than when I went for my first 20 mile ride. I will take the seat to an upholsterer and get them to make it 3 inches taller. It really is that low. I think maybe that the seat cushion, and height above the footboards might be right for a smaller person, but for an average European or American It is just too low and too hard. Other than that, and because I have found a solution to the seat problem I now love it and once the seat is re-upholstered it will be a truly great bike. I should have mentioned that it is a very very quiet engine. Wind noise round your helmet is a lot louder. You might be tempted to fit a louder exhaust if you can find one. However, it is a truly vibration-free ride. I cannot believe how smooth they have got a single cylinder engine to run, there are literally zero vibrations through the hand grips and the foot boards.

The seat on the cruisym must be lower/ have less padding than on the latest model joymax/gts 300i abs as I'm the same height as you and when sat at the back of the seat I struggle to get both feet flat on the floor ,I have to slide forward slightly ( latest joymax/gts 300/250/125 is exactly the same as the cruisym but different plastics and dashboard) strange that they sell 2 almost identical models, here in UK the joymax is slightly more expensive although I think it's finally gone out of production now replaced next year with a slimmer model called joymax X I think.

is there a combined braking system (CBS), also called linked braking system (LBS), for linking front and rear brakes on the scooter. so that when the rider depressing the left brake lever it will apply both front and rear brakes.??

Cruisym 300i , 250i , joymax/gts 250i abs f4, 300i abs f4 ( I think in some markets there are non abs visions of the latest model joymax/gts 250 and 300) are all exactly the same with same running gear, engines and frames but the cruisym and joy max have different plastics and dashboards. The 250 engine makes about 22-23 bhp and the 300 just under 27 bhp , of course there are 125cc visions as well of both the cruisym and gts/joymax ( gts in some markets and joymax in others) . Anyone looking for an after market exhaust for the joymax/gts just buy one for a cruisym as it's the same as I already mentioned ( I've got an arrow and it's great , I'm in the UK and non listed for the joymax/gts here).
