9:10 apples and essences…man! I have lots of thoughts about this. And apples and digesting symbols vs seeds.

It’s very loaded symbolism there in the Garden 😊

its very interesting that you used the fruit/seed of the tree as the relationship in this example with the symbol/reality metaphor , its decent and i think it does hint at some larger truths ; ironic tho that the example that you chose is about the tree , when the entire story about the serpent and the fruit and the 2 trees in the garden are explicitly stories about questioning your given reality , ie the serpent being representative of disobedience/independence/wisdom/jesus/lucifer/lightbringer/morningstar/prometheus , and the entire structure of the garden a prison of ignorance , the tree of the knowledge of good/evil is not about specifics [ofc being an allegory] but about the ability to understand the difference between things , ie polarity ; truly amazing how stories can be weaved in such ways as to have layers within layers within layers

Perhaps when you realize that the fruit has the seed, the tree transforms into the tree of life and Adam receives his inheritance. There is speculation these trees are one somehow. The lesson is have faith in the seed don’t be deceived by the fruit.

The question for me does your symbolic system cover over the lack/real?( ideology / community) or does your symbolic system get you to the lack/real ?( communion / love)

Hrm well I don't think of this as my system. It's the system of human sense making generally as expressed in literature, painting, photography, music and any other art, and also science with it's modeling of reality project. I think that this symbolic thinking has a tendency to create idols and ideologies that are recursive to it's own symbolism, This is identifiable by its, "We have found the actual truth rather than our interpretation." proclamations. However, if carefully restrained from all such egoism in a humility and the realization that you're thinking in approximation, it can in this way lead one towards communion via love. Love is always humble.

@Stephen.D20 My apologies; I wasn't trying to say in any way that your system was doing this. I was just pointing to the fact that most systems portray themselves as totalizing unconscious to the fact that these totalizations are imaginary projections, but imaginary projections are needed for what it means to be human. I think you are spot on this egoism, and its totalization is where the problem lies. Your use of the garden analogy is wonderful . It seems the ego is trying to protect itself from the other. this builds up defenses and trying to protect itself from the other's desire but in doing this a fantasies/idolatry, which also cut off the subject from their own desire, and cutting off desire cuts off love. The tightrope walk of rational knowledge and unconscious desire is very perplexing but also very interesting. I think your study and seeking out these questions through liturgy, science, and other means is so cool. Thanks for another great video

@ I’m quite deficient in any psychological analysis, so you’re identifying aspects that I wouldn’t see. Thank you for that, and for your support in this project, whatever it may be haha.
