It was 1989. It's unlikely there was ever any HD footage.

@@badbobbygamerbbg7306 Thanks, that's considerate of you. I can't remember why I wrote that now. I visited Computer Graphics '89 and saw the HDTV footage of the film myself. At the time it was the most astonishing thing I'd seen on TV. The definition then exceeded the later digital HDTV standard for a while, so I knew where was HDTV footage. I may have not looked at the section he mentions. Thanks for the link, I've just taken a look.
