Fantastic work, thank you! May I know which software was used for the visualisations? This would be super helpful!

I introduced the software at the beginning of the tutorial. It is a web-based application

Thanks. I am teaching the course again this year. I was thinking to do one on using the symmetry tables. Is there any topic you want to see?

Sir in improper rotation of axis in methane how is it possible by rotating only 90 and having reflection on the other atom which is on 109,28' and how can it impose on an atom which is 109,28'.Pls sir explain?
@michelangelotritto95395 жыл бұрын
The angle between each bond of a tetrahedral conformation is 109.5°, but we are not rotating the molecule in a 3D space. We are rotating the molecule about an axis, so when rotating we must view the molecule as a 2D structure about this axis of rotation. When represented like this, the tetrahedral shape appears to be almost like a square planar, meaning the angle to reach the next possible configuration is only 90°. This is my interpretation, if i'm wrong feel free to correct me pls.

Hey which software are you using to rotate the molecules
@synopticreport90484 жыл бұрын
I gave the website details at the start of the movie then did screen capture and edited it with Screenflow. I tried using Chemdraw, but if needed too much user input.

By which software we can show rotation of molecules
@kevinfortune28554 жыл бұрын
You can use Chemdraw or ChemBioDraw. I used an online source (I gave the web address at the start of the video) because it was very simple to use. Good luck with your chemistry career!

which application u r using
@synopticreport90486 жыл бұрын
It is from the website I introduced at the start. The address is symmetry.otterbein.edu. Chemdraw allows 3D rotations, but not view axes, planes and so on. I suggest visiting the website and asking the University themselves.
