Thanks for the comment! As far as i’m aware there are no circuits who offer test rides but some of the ‘manufacturers’ do. Roy at pitbikeracing used to have hire bikes but he couldn’t get the insurance after the first year. I think andy merron (AMR) offer a test ride. Best thing would be to ask on the pitbike pages on facebook. Probably best to try ‘UK Pitbike Supermoto’

Hey! Thanks for the comment. I would always go 140 personally, gen 3 YX140 if you can get it. The gen 4 is not as strong. The 140 can race in the 140 & 160 classes, there is less than 1bhp difference. I have won plenty of 160 races on the 140 so no issues there. The 140 is also a bit easier/cheaper to upgrade.

Yeah it’s a good bike and proven race winner. Don’t get me wrong, non of the manufacturers selling a new bike for £1500 will be race winners. You can try the AMR bikes at a bmb event for £250 for the weekend but I don’t think you buy the exact bike thats winning the races, small differences everywhere. The second hand market has some good choices, i sold my bmb race winning bike for £1200 but there are a lot of bit’s of crap out there as well. Join one of the fb forums or drop me a dm on fb and I will try and help you out 👍

I’m glad you did! Thanks for the comment :) The brake wasn’t as strong as the formula system I have on my own bike. In terms of laptime it’s probably not the thing slowing the bike down but when your battling you need all the stopping power you can get 🤣

@@TommyFielding My Ayrton Xtrema had the same twin disk set up as the new Symoto. I have to say I was OK with it when I first rode it but when we did some winter testing with a rider who has won a British title on pit bikes we found that the pads were not getting hot enough and he wanted to go back to a single disk. Its not really any better than a single disk set up as we have run both with stock calipers after changing to a smaller master cylinder to run the single caliper. Mine is now on a Formula brake set up and it is a massive difference.

@@YAMR1M I run a formula on my bike too and rate it above anything else I have tried. In my opinion the master cylinder is a bit too big of a bore though, I would like a bit more feel.

@@TommyFielding 4 piston or 2 piston Formula? My 4 piston version is very soft and changing to Brembo pads was insane.

@@YAMR1M 4 piston with sintered pads. Theres not much weight on the front wheel so need something more progressive to trail effectively I think. A smaller bore master cylinder would give me that…..but i’m not that serious enough about the pitbike to spend any money 😆
