Hibiki's transformation sequence is kinda like a martial arts demonstration or rather shadow boxing drills because she fights bare handed. Kirika's has elements of pole dancing with her scythe as the pole. Shirabe's is a figure skating performance combined with 2a yoyo skills. Maria's is based on rhythmic gymnastics with a ribbon since she uses a dagger that can extend into a whip. Tsubasa's like Hibiki's is a martial arts demonstration only it's Kenjutsu which is obvious since she uses a katana. Chris's transformation sequence has no apparent performing arts motif except maybe that she was moving around like a heroine from an action movie who knows her way with a gun right at the end.

I never noticed before that the transformation sequences have diferent focus depending on the team: Div 2 Gear has a focus on the weapons/techniques the girls uses, while the FIS team lean more on artistics (pole dance, gymnastiscs, ice skating)

Huh... yeah thats a clever detail makes sense too, Div 2's gear users are all natural talent, so their weapons are just extensions of themselves as they resonated with them. Meanwhile FIS's girls had to work for their gears, they need to use Linker to fight and as a result need to make up for their lack of talent with pure skill and training. Thus showing their skills as individuals is more representitive of them...

In lore a symphogear is fragment of a mythological item (ie gungnir from Norse mythology) turned into magical girl armour by priestess who built the tower of Babel. Genre wise more technology looking magical girls isn't anything new, look at Nanoha for an example.

I've been lamenting the fact that we didn't get the extended versions since Maria transforming to Senritsu Sorority in AXZ. In XV it's Shirabe and Maria's that I want especially. Mijuku Shoujo Buttagiri!! feels like it starts up too soon while the transformation version has the perfect amount of buildup to it. Meanwhile Shirogane no Honou is missing the beautiful section from 03:53 to 04:03 which makes me very sad.

Believe or not, music disc sales. The insert songs sold from this anime could fund Unlimited Budget Works, if put together from each season. You can actually see the difference in production value from Season 1 to Season 2, and most of that came from the music.

At first i thought Shirabe had the weirdest design when she was first introduced in previous seasons. But look at her now, you would be proud! Look at how they made the transformation, the weird boots, and hair, now looks like the coolest things ever! I never saw the design the same anymore. She has one of the coolest and cutest transformations. Similar with Kirika. Surpassing their design and past transformations by far many levels. Seriously, all of these transformations are so cool!! I think the coolest transformations in history for magical girls. Hibiki looks so strong, Kirika and Chris looks so.. err sexy and funky, Shirabe looks so cool and cute, Maria looks so confident and nimble, Tsubasa looks fine in her fiery swordsmanship, Elfnein the saviour, and Miku looks so regal and elegant.

1. Gungnir- the spear of the norse god odin. (weaker than gea bolg thou) 2. Igalima- one of the twin childrens of the sumerian god zababa. 3. Shulshagana- a weapon wielded by the sumerian god zababa and also the twin of igalima. 4. Ichival- bow of the norse god ullr. 5. Airgetlám- the Holy silver arm of the celtic god nuadha and in some other universe, the hand of a certain knight that stayed beside his king until the very end. 6. Ameno habakiri- the same sword that emerged from the mystic beast, orochi and was wielded by the Japanese God, susanoo. Sadly I don't know the other 2.

um.. wrong Gugnir isn't weaker than Gea Bolg. If you read the myths relating to it, It shares the same trait as Gae Bolg and then-some. 1. The lance is meant to be thrown 2. It cannot be destroyed. 3. It always returns to the user's hand 4. It can never miss Gungnir cannot be destroyed It cannot be stopped by any mortal means the only reason Fenrir won was because he was destined to. Against anyone else Gungnir would defeat them and it's not even stated wether Fenrir destroys gungnir. Gae Bolg cannot miss and will always kill. but It can be destoyed, none of the celtic spears are explicitly given the 'unbreakable' status. Not only that but any Oath made under Gungnir can never be broken. And Will be fulfilled without a doubt, only ragnarok the end of the world where all bonds. physical metaphorical and otherwise are broken is the exception. I looked into Celtic mythology recently and im a bit of a norse buff so I feel confident in my Analysis.

On a side note, Gungnir is the weapon that broke Dainsielf in norse mythology so it's fitting that Hibiki is the first to overcome it. though seriously if Gungnir in there world is a god killer. Interestingly in an older version of the myth Mistletoe is actually a sword named that. Not a dart made of Mistletoe. And one could technically view it as the weapon that started ragnarok. A conceptual god killer which severs bonds, in that case Gungnir is a conceptual weapon that can forge bonds. Fitting really, of course then you get into the children of loki like fuuuuck imagine people using Fenrir Items as sorta Anti-hibiki weaponry. Not to meantion Kollr the sword of Heimdall which is used to slay loki. A conceptual god killer that cuts dimensions.
