This is one of the first Japanese animation soundtracks I ever purchased. I still have the vinyl. It is superb music that absolutely holds up to or surpasses anything being done today. The musical themes added a layer of emotion and subtext that was so vital to the Yamato saga. It's hard to explain how melodic soulful music can so poetically compliment a raging space battle. Great stuff.

hiroshi miyagawa sensibility and taste were at the top of worldwide common sense, orchestration is pure brilliant at fine sense of possibilities. and consider i prefer the more dramatical original version of this track, much more pure spontaneous intensity both instrumental and song
