Awww Tracie, this was awesome. I'm now older than dust, but I'm still the silly, musically inclined youngster inside. Just two days ago, I called my adopted 50 year old daughter, grabbed my acoustic guitar, and played along with this song, just for her. My sweet girl quit breathing, and by the end of the song, she cried like a child! We love each other dearly, and look after each other all the time. We live a great distance apart (about 1200 kilometers), but still see each other about 3x a year. I'm so proud to say that, in our case, the love we have for each other is more powerful than the distance that separates us. Music, especially when I play for her, is a love language that's easier than just the spoken word. I'm so determined to fight the cancer that threatens me, and so much that I do for her is aimed at building warm, happy memories for when I eventually lose this fight. Anyway, Sir Elton John was a gifted songwriter (along with his co-writer Bernie Taupin). If you'd like another Elton John classic, I highly recommend "Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters." Thank you for this, lovely reaction. 😇🙏🌹☺️🤩

Hey Baby Girl, I love this song... actually I've been mentioning it just earlier this day, as a reactor I'm following started discovering AnnenMayKantereit, and when it comes to that band I always have to mention my two favorite recordings by them: One is "Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen" (Proberaum Session), and the other one is Henning May solo, just his piano and his gorgeous gigantic voice, on this very song... I highly recommend to check that out, if not as a reaction then in your own time, you would LOVE that, for me it's even better than Elton John's original... Henning May Cover Your Song (By: Elton John) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmOQnKyEltB0epIsi=ND7EcbPQFiCJsgfm Peace out!

My first impulse also was to tell her, but then I thought "Well, honestly it's completely irrelevant, he could have written it for a Marsupilami or whatever, it's just one of the greatest and most relatable love songs ever written, and it can be applied to anyone as he mentions neither gender nor color nor religion nor any of that bullshit, it's a truly universal song, written by a musical genius."
