This just showed us how hypocritical US is. 1) China is a competitor in technology therefore China is a threat, regardless of human rights kinda BS; 2 ) US did nothing wrong to hurt the US-Sino relationship but China did all bad things to bring the situation. China should change to sheep as before; 3) The most amazing comment is: China should stay low in the supply chain like 20 years ago, should not have its own standard or being technologically country. Otherwise, China wants to change the global order. Can Chinese have a better life? Can they be a developed country? You said you care Chinese human rights but you actually don’t care. PS: It’s so dumb to say that CCP want Chinese to be rich only because they want to stay power. Would you say GOP want MAGA only because they want to stay power forever? Are you assuming a party has no ambition/idea to bring better living conditions to their people but only for powers? Demonized CCP is a really terrible idea because Chinese would see it as racism

Yep, in full display : The west can steal ip from others and each other, just check the number of ip lawsuits in silicon valley, but Others are not worthy of the same. The west can spy on others through the prism program but others are not worthy....

How much does the second speaker know Huawei? It is a great company, owned by its own employees. Employees are awarded company stocks at a discounted price, in line with their performance and position. When an employee retires, he or she sell back their stocks back to the company. A good friend of mine is to retire from Huawai soon and he will take away more 3 million USD by selling back his stocks accumulated in over 15 years, working as a leading research scientist there.

What is not lost on this discussion, given Russia’s de facto ostracisation, is that in the event of a China/American/NATO military conflict over Taiwan, Russian participation will be all but guaranteed, thus setting the stage for nuclear WWIII.

@@danielvache8057 The CCP has never ruled in Taipei nor over Taiwan. The PLA does not defend Taipei, Wang Yi as the CCP Foreign Minister does not represent the Taiwanese People on the International stage, the People of Taiwan do not have use a People’s Republic of China passport, Xi Jinping as Secretary of the Party can not tell the people of Taiwan what to do , for example this zero tolerance policy on the coronavirus, the people in Taiwan do not have the same laws or Court system as the CCP ruled mainland and The CCP is not the Government nor does it have any authority in Taiwan. Hey those are the facts. Is Taiwan part of China, yes, but are the CCP the legitimate Government- well they certainly have no history of governance or authority in the Taiwan .

Right, as the rightful Government of greater China which mainland China disagrees with.

@@georgescott6049 The CCP can disagree but it still doesn’t change the fact, that the CCP has never ruled in Taiwan. The People of Taiwan are Chinese (so are most Singaporeans too actually) but the people in Taiwan have never accepted nor has the CCP ever ruled over them . So the CCP is not the Government of Taiwan . The CCP does not make the laws or rules in Taipei. Never have. Never will.

The 2nd speaker was honest & sincere and he correctly defined the core issues that relate to the antagonism between USA vs China; but the 1st speaker need not be given any credibility at all. He was promoting "American exceptionalism" (let him do that in his own time);he was all over the place and I just lose him at every corner ! I will only deal with the 2nd speaker. We can all accept the fact that US vs China is not going to be 100% America wins the war; China has concentrated on building power over the Asia-Pacific region and it that sense, I believe US is no match against China. Motherland does not wish to be a world power, but only to be a regional power so that we are secure in our place in the world. It has been obvious since the days of our Great Mao, that if China is weak the US will treat China as door mat, and that must never happen. I believe China can fight a war against USA and indeed must at some point in time, and why not now ? This war that I believe China can fight and win "is to fight a straight 1 on 1 war, between USA vs China. This can be achieved by warning "American allies"(especially Japan)that if any such ally attacks China, motherland will nuke such American ally. I reason that if China demonstrates her resolve to juke Any interfering US ally, the war will be between such "ally" and China and the USA will then not dare to wage a nuclear war. If USA vs China is fought 1 on 1 then the winner will bring peace to the world. America has been and still is the most evil, vile and immoral super power. End American hegemony and save from certain extinction. China can begin by re-uniting with Taiwan; if the US is serious about fighting by the side of Taiwan, then llet them come.

Try to take Taiwan and see what happens. The US and it's allies will destroy the Chinese military. The CCP is the true evil of this world. The sooner the mainland Han embrace democracy, the better off our world will be. At the moment China is a plague.

Speaker Clifford suffers the same myopia that affect most Americans. Namely, the U.S. assumes that China cannot get along unless they can steal technology from the U.S. In many areas, China has already surpassed America and the U.S. needs a new strategy to steal from China. On the other hand, stealing in either direction in not the solution. Collaboration and sharing is the way and the U.S. will actually be a net gainer of this approach.
