You sir are a very special person... You will never know what you doing this for Sheila, meant to her and to me.. Sheila and I have been best friends since we met in the sixth grade and have walked such similar paths in life we have truly become sisters in spirit and know we were somehow always destined to be in each others lives.. When Sheila and I reconnected after at least 15 years apart less than a year ago after the tragic death of her precious son Mason I remember texting her to please not shut me out because I had a feeling God was putting us back in each other's lives because he knew we were going to need each other more than we ever had before and little did I know at the time just how very true that was going to turn out to be and probably more than either of us thought it would be...I love you Sheila.. and thank you for being my friend by chance but most of all "Thank you" especially after losing my last remaining sibling suddenly last Thursday for now being my sister by choice!!!!❤️❤️

As a veteran that has PTSD, I fully understand how some of the smallest things can make some of the biggest impacts in our lives. It was an absolute pleasure to do this for her. Thank you for the kind words. And both of you keep up the communication. Friends are important.

I loved watching this and your reaction!! I hope your friend enjoyed it as well! I'm so thankful for Shinedown bringing us so many songs with these messages regarding mental health! I actually got turned on to this band about 15+ yrs ago by my son. He sadly chose to leave this world 7 years ago,,,but between my faith in God and Shinedown songs,,,I can make it...and hopefully help someone out along the way!! Peace and blessings!!!

I've been a part of the misfits crowd myself for the majority of my life, just because some of us are off a bit doesn't mean that we're not good people and try to do good by others...even if the approach is unorthodox, the intent is in the right place even when the broken people are ones with so little to offer except for genuine understanding of what a person can be going through.

I'm 50 now but as a child at 9 yrs old I was sexually abused for numerous years and never told anyone. The "Unpack all your baggage, Hide it in the attic, where you hope it disappears" is exactly what I did. 5 years ago I unpacked it after it never disappeared and have had a mess on my hands since. This is that one song that hits me so hard!!! Thanks for the vid! 👍

💕Similar situation. It's hard. We were just kids what the hell did we know. How do you even begin to describe to people what's happening to you? As you get older, if you're lucky you can hide it away and it doesn't rule your life, just those super dark times that hopefully only come around once in a while. I don't know what kind made you "unpack" it but I pray that you have support. Even if it's just one good friend who will listen, hold you when it overwhelms you, let's you be "broken" and just loves you. If it helps, there's another survivor out here praying for you, knowing that you can make it through.

I feel the same way but I have friends but I feel so lonely and disconcerting from everything and it’s fucking hard but when I started getting closer to god I realized that it doesn’t matter if I have friends because you are never alone with god. I try to be there for everyone but they are never there for me.

I'm 5 minutes in (I love Shinedown & have seen them more than a dozen times live...) but I can relate to being the last one called or not at all-from my childhood. I had friends but I wasn't that best friend. As an adult its different and I have good friends and I am called, so no one could ever understand that I could relate to being that person. Honestly it was you saying this that made me realize why no one gets it and maybe why even though I have my people now-it wasn't always easy for me to recognize why I can relate to not having them. Sorry for the ramble but thank you for helping me make sense of my feelings.

Right?? Always be kind! It's so underrated but so much more important. You NEVER know with whom your path is crossing; music, these comments, reactions to music etc etc. I imagine myself on the worst days in my life; SO, treat the seemingly biggest ARSE in ur daily encounters like I would've wanted to be treated. That concept serves humanity at large. I'm not a vet but I have massive PTSD. Dealing my my eldest sons diagnosis, my ex husband almost killing me in a psychotic break, then my youngest son dying at 2&1/2 years. Hard, but doable. Still, ppl being kind and myself being kind, putting that in energetically MATTERS!!

Good vibes going out to Shelia!! I was raised to help out and never look down on others. Always take care of yourself though. You can't help others if you don't care of yourself. I'm that person that is a sounding board for others. I'm also highly empathetic so it's a hard balance between being their for others and not overwhelming myself. It's great that you want to help out your fellow veterans and first responders. I hope your new group continues to be successful.

I do hope your back heals well Sheilagoss96 and there is hope.
