Can a bad fuel pump cause overheating ?

Not directly, but it can. A clogged or failing fuel pump can make your engine overheat because the harder an engine works the hotter it runs. If your engine suddenly starts to overheat and stall yet you have plenty of coolant and no visible radiator problems, it could be your fuel pump.
