Thanks! …speedwriting. 😂 It’s just what you get into when you write for clients for years. I have written similar ”adventure music” pieces and classical arrangements extensively for many years. So it’s not a first time thing for me. I’m also quite familiar with the sounds of VSL since I was using Epic Orchestra, Appasionata Stings and Epic Horns a ton in the past. But it was my first time using Synchron Player and the new orchestra. Super fun! Very versatile package!

I bought it. I love the sounds. But I can't find anywhere, any instructions on HOW TO SAVE PATCHES IN MY DAW! I want it to configure itself correctly if I bring up the composition in my DAW later. This is such a basic thing, why does nobody mention how to do this?

What daw are you using? Synchron (the plugin) when saved in a daw, the daw project file will store the selected presets when you save. That’s how its working in all daws Ive tried. Logic Pro, Bitwig, FL. the daws remember the presets you selected within the plugins. Its stored in the project file.

Very cool.. I wish my ears knew how to go lydian (?) in such an effortless manner... I wonder how dry this library can sound, if I want to use it with my own reverb?

I didn't try to remove the reverb completely yet, but in my experience VSL often is the best libs to go dry with. I'll get back to you once I've dried up Smart Orchestra. ;)

my worst fear has become real,my computer where i installed all the VSL libraries just died,i dont know if this computer also broke the dongle where all my licenses were installed on,thats why i love musio,i can re-install everything on a new computer,as the license is via the musio manager,no fragile dongle required,i dont know why VSL doesnt use their library manager to activate their instruments like musio,the,when a computer fails you can re-installl everything on the new computer easily,VSL also said you can activate their licenses on the computer itself,that would have been a bigger disaster as this machine broke pfff thats why i was reluctant to buy more libraries from them,cheers Mathias

How in the HELL do you load individual instrument sounds into different MIDI tracks? All I can get it to do is load one preset, and if I change to a newMIDI track, the sound is still the same one. I am BEYOND frustrated. How do you put a horn on one MIDI track, a drum on another MIDI track and a piano on a third MIDI track? Please help me. The manuals are useless. I am using MOTU Digital Performer 10 as my sequencer and DAW on a Mac Pro. Smart Orchestra sounds amazing, but I can only have one MIDI track. I want twenty different sounds on twenty different MIDI tracks.

VSL synchron player plugin is not multitimbral. Only uses one midi channel per instance. Need to open multiple instances of Synchron player plugin. Then load whatever preset you want to start with for each instance of synchron player. Can right click on any sections or instruments you do not want loaded into memory for each loaded instance, if RAM conservation becomes an issue. I am on DP11 and all the Vienna stuff working well here.

Beautiful sounds, sadly the iLok does not like the world of Ubuntu or Mint or any other tasty flavour of GNU/Linux.

Doesn't iLok cloud work on ubuntu? Ages since I tried other OS than OSX, Windows so I have no clue.

VSL have always had great instruments but they are stuck in the 1990s with the ilok key requirement. A unique requirement in the 2020s. The last time I looked this "key" was $75.00. Just adds to the cost of already very expensive instruments and lose of a USB port.

I guess that’s what iLok cloud is for. 👍 The old keys was not very conveniant to use. And swap between the machines if you were working in multiple places / studios.
