Rather than synchronize transient peaks in the waveform of a music track to a grid, I have need to sync one track to another. For instance, in a live recording of a guitar duet, the timing of guitar 1 is better than the timing of guitar 2. I would like to have the two tracks displayed one above the other in the Sample Editor ("Clip Display") section, so I can add warp marker to the peaks in guitar 2 and align them with those in guitar 1, which is used as for reference. Is there a way to do this in Ableton?

Any ways you can show this with a sample that has no drum beat in it. I’m struggling to sample and get an instrumental that has no drums in it to fit with my chosen more upbeat Tempo .
@tmwsmith2 жыл бұрын
The problem I'm having is with different time signatures- trying to blend 2 sets of stems, one lot in 4/4 and the other in 6/8 (both sets could be either btw) so I can sync tempo but then one or other set of stems don't fit in any grid??

Good tutorial 👍 but can u explain your personal process to identity the key of the sample ? I have a general idea but it would have taken me longer to come up with it cus I don’t know what to go by
@SeedtoStage5 жыл бұрын
Well for me it came with ear training. I simply listen to the notes that work and the notes that don't and derive the key from that. That is a completely different lesson / series in and of itself. All that really matters at the end of the day is the notes that are occurring in the part of the music you're using. Sometimes experiments can yield really fun musical results. I would encourage both ear training and experimentation.

How can I have Ableton , make a click track to my music ? I need it to auto detect the BPM and create a click to it .
@patrickbreak9093 жыл бұрын
When I click tap repeatedly it just messes up the track's tempo and I can't listen to the bpm anymore. What should I do?

How about older songs that were not computer made, were the tempo slightly fluctuates over the song?

You will have to chop up the sample and edit the tempo for each section.

Some help would honestly be amazing man have a good day and thank you for your awesome tutorials

Thanks bro!! How can we transpose audio clips say in Cmaj to Cmin?
@iwanwesterduin4 жыл бұрын
You can't transpose the audio to change the key from maj to min or vise versa. If you have one song in some maj key and another song in min, you can, however, transpose them so the keys are relative to each other. For example, if you have a track in C Maj and a track in B min, you could transpose the second one to A min (the relative minor of C Maj)

Brother your videos are awesome. I'm currently deciding which of your courses I'm going to purchase. Leaning towards mixing and mastering. I just wanted to throw out there that I'm using Live 11 and for whatever reason, when I go to reward the sample in session view, AFTER the tap tempo process, for whatever reason, Ableton is not auto correcting the tempo at the new speed. I have to drag the sample into arrangement view and THEN warp it there. Any idea why it's not auto correcting the sample at the new tempo for me? It's not a big deal, I'm just wondering, and wanted to write this out in case anyone else is watching this using Live 11

Hello ! Is there a way to play a piano plugin (for example) in Live, and to be able to sync it ? I mean...Syncing live your playing, not like the record syncing option, but something for live playing. (Of course for the notes that are played too early, those too late couldn't be played before !!). Thank you for your video !!

There is a live quantization setting you can get to under edit -> record quantization. makes it so when youre doing inputs on midi they auto quantize.

Great video (and I view a lot of videos). One question about double tapping in the beat - tap templo - double time. I am not sure what you are doing there. So let's say I originally tapped 4 times spaced x seconds apart. Are you saying I should try tapping 8 times in the same stretch of time? Also I saw this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGnIn5uLrqejlac. Is there a reason/circumstance where the method in the video won't work or won't work as well. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Good luck doing this with a song that has a lot going on. Ableton can't handle it. It's easy with a few synths and a really loud kick and snare, but if you do it with like a rock song or something, you'll struggle to get it working.
