I was blown away by your comment about submission fees, The company TAXI do this and ask you for an annual membership, and for those of us outside the USA paying in USD is double the price so all up it costs a fortune, Its really hard in the current financial market.

Yes and Taxi is not a Library. They are a middle man service. I don’t think that’s necessary. You can directly partner with Libraries! My channel has many videos to help you find them.

Great advice! I had a call with one library who told me that they would not work with me if ANY of my tracks were in other libraries. (Complete exclusivity to their library or they weren't even willing to talk to me). I moved on since I'd never heard of any other libraries who prevented an artist from working with different libraries, so long as they were different non-exclusive tracks.

Good for you! That kind of deal shouldn't even be entertained unless they're offering you some kind of salary for complete exclusivity.

Sounds like you're describing a 'Cattle Call' company - that's not who I recommend you partner with to try to make this your full-time gig.

Because I have an account with them (they do an instantly catalog analysis for valuation) and they ask for your PRO credentials? Do you thing that I should change my password? I don't use Royalty Exchange so I can't comment on them. Since it seems they are in the business of buying/selling royalties I would imagine they would need to have access to your PRO statements (to ensure you're a "good" investment, etc.)

Wassup Jesse. Just got my first royalty check from BMI. Two tracks played on MTV, lifetime, Hulu, and Amazon vod. Should I ask my library if they received an up front fee? Because I'm supposed to get 50% of any upfronts.

You can certainly ask. Not all placements come with Sync Fees. Your library might have blanket licenses in place to allow their clients to place any track they'd like.

Music Libraries ARE publishers. They are administering your tracks for TV/Film placements.
