Glad I found this, now I don't have to rely on unfinished quotes. First I heard this was from 0:38 to 0:44. This gives more perspective on whole thing. Then again, I doubt this was the whole interview, but, then again, it's a start.

Yep, really is important to see all the context. He isn't against integration, he's just against one side claiming supremacy over the other.. and given that's precisely what happened with majority rule, we can see his views were correct.

That's exactly what happened years of black majority rule led to the Zimbabwe go down hill. The average Zimbabwean was worse of in 2000 than the average Zimbabwean in 1980. And things took a urn for the worse after Mugabe's so-called land reform stealing land from white farmers who bought and paid for it legally. I saw one documentary in which one random black woman calling a white Zimbabwean women wicked for no reason accusing her of stealing the land when her family bought and paid for it legally. A lot of these farmers were a part of their community some actually set up a school for the children of the black farm workers who worked in their farms. That policy negatively affected blacks and white. This what'll happen if white become a minority in Europe and America, etc., etc. unless we do something about it in order to prevent that from happening. If there had been more whites in Rhodesia maybe they wouldn't have been pressured to give black majority rule and maybe Zimbabwe would not have been in the state it is right now.

Mugabe land reform was a major major success despite UK & US sanctions You can't have minority whites 7% of population owning 80% of very fertile lands, they took the lands under colonialism by force and relocated black communities. Some people are blind to the facts on ground. @@ayodejiolowokere1076 Having an educated majority rule was what they were working for. You have to remember, they are having to take the locals from an iron age tribal stage through 2,000 years of development in 90 years. These things don't happen overnight.

@@mrman8541 there were race curfews. Blacks had to leave the white area at a certain time of day, and segregation was the rule of the day. Also, with the 1969 constitution 50 out of 66 seats in Rhodesia's parliament were reserved for whites. In addition, blacks and whites could not purchase property in the other's area. Finally, there was a colour bar that dictated what amenities an individual could utilize based on their race. What did any of this have to do with education?

For Ian Smith to publicly, categorically and shamelessly state that he is against Black majority rule in a country where he was leading a privileged white minority is simply declaring the Rhodesian intention to exploit Black Zimbabweans indefinitely. It will always be unacceptable, regardless of the condition we currently find ourselves in, to willfully return to Egypt. Never in a thousand years. A luta continua.

It's much better to starve under whilst Mugabe eats a 100 year old turtle for his 89th birthday. At least you're all trillionaires now, can travel freely, own land, have access to first class healthcare, education, housing and sanitation, enjoy security and the rule of law, democratic integrity as well as participate in the political developments of your country... o wait, no, you can't do any of that. A luta continua or whatever.
