I don't care what anyone says, Dead Money is hands down the best expansion episode in FO:NV. That doesn't mean that I think it's perfect or that the criticism leveled at it is wrong or just "doesn't get it". Mechanically speaking it's hot, moist garbage. I'm seriously surprised that it even runs as good as it does for me because it tried a lot of new stuff. The vault and trying to get Elijah in it without screwing up the whole thing is a particularly atrocious slice of onion in my peanut butter. It's the story and the environment that I love about DM and makes me keep coming back. Especially when I started playing with mods that fixed issues and bugs and added cut content and i when i used a mod that let me make it rain anytime i wanted? Oh graces! The villa already looked beautiful in a depressing way but seeing it in the rain made me see it so differently.

i got a theory... Big Mountain was developing a special type of suit capable of recording and learning the wearer's movements so that it could attack more enemies even after death and also to return the dead soldier to base, which in this case are the clothes of those Y-17 trauma override harness, perhaps these Hazmat Suits that the Ghost People use have a similar technology since in some idle animations they appear to be interacting with some type of computer keyboard, other than that, as they appear to be somewhat Ghoulified, I believe they follow the same logic as ghouls with radiation but with the red cloud, in FNV's Hardcore mode it is confirmed that the red cloud affects the player even in small quantities and is present throughout the Villa, as the player continues to take damage even though they are not in a very concentrated area of the cloud, perhaps the fact that the workers in the Hazmat suits died to the gas that got inside the suits has Ghoulified them in some way so that the cloud works like radiation for them, causing them to heal from small injuries (or superficial injuries) quickly, not to mention that the clothing may be making some movements easier for them since after it is damaged, they can no longer move, so perhaps if the ghost people were taken to an area 100% free from the red cloud, they would not rise after death (Used google translator so expect some mistakes)
@MillieBlackRose Жыл бұрын
I heard that the hollograms were supposed to be a distraction. You turn them on and the ghost people fall to their knees in worship. But that never made it in. A mix of the gas and radiation made them that way i think. Not just one. You know we got a lot of information about Mr. Yesterday but not what ended up happening to him. I would have liked some closure. 😌

Personally I interpret their reverence of the holograms and Christine as them remembering their pre-war lives. The holograms look lile people they saw before being trapped in their suits and Christine ends up with Vera's voice, a voice of a pre-war idol. Instead of worship, it feels more like they're stunned by these pre-war memories, showing there's still a human trapped in that suit and not just a completely feral monster.
