Symptoms: Sweating profusely. (nervous over being a spy in enemy territory) Contusions. (outcome of being getting interrogated) Profuse hemorrhaging. (SEVERELY interrogated) New ideals; Socialism, Communism. (c'mon...) We already know the US put asian-americans in concentration camps, we find them as ghouls with bomb collars STILL stuck in their pens during New Vegas, in the Big MT. Is it really that hard to consider that the "new plague" was just a negative propaganda pretext to have people pulled off the street if suspected of being enemies of the state, locked in "quarantine" camps, interrogated to force confessions out of them and then the plague said to cause contusions and bleeding so people who might happen to pass by would thing "Oh shit they sick and contagious, best run away" instead of thinking "Wait a second, why are they torturing uncle Phil?" The lore of the New Plague feels to me like a social experiment conducted on the fanbase to see who'd "fall for it". Even if there WAS an actual sickness, something like a resurgence of the bubonic plague, the "new ideals" symptom has no leg to stand on, if they're already dying being covered in open sores, you wouldn't need ideology as a symptom to quarantine them, unless you wanted to be able to point at dissidents and say "They're sick, toss them in with the plagued", which is equivalent to the original premise. Or the Chinese actually came up with a biological weapon that brainwashes the american people, but then why'd they make it so that it ALSO killed them horrendously? You'd think the Chinese would want dead democrats and living communists, not turning democrats into commies 3 days before killing them. Unless being a communist made them go "Our disease" and start licking the necks of nuka cola bottles in convenience stores. It's VERY well established that the government and corporations in Fallout are dystopian douchebags, can we start being a bit more critical of the in-universe publicly available information? It's like studying the lore of the vaults and saying "No, there were no experiments because there's a poster that vault tec posted that says vaults are safe." Or saying "The Enclave isn't bad because that flying robot in Fallout 3 keeps saying they're good guy patriots!"

okay im going to be 100000% honest here how did this suit have so many sensors and tech built into it but no pip-boy like feature that detected the wearer's condition? or even a heartbeat? no way of checking oxygen levels to see if the user is still even breathing? I love fallout lore but big MT knew way way more solutions to making this harness work and it seems like they cut corners in production or something. something is just off about even the prototype not having any biometrics but the ability to mimic the user, if it can hold or save data about the user, then it should also know if the user is alive plain and simple.

Everyone hates on the institute so hard but in reality they’re the best future for the commonwealth. The BoS is just a tribe that hoards technology. They don’t help people. Sure fallout 3 had Elder Lyons but the BoS considered the capital chapter of the BoS to not be true to their ideals. The institute has superior technology and while they may do experiments considered “inhumane” it’s for the best for the future.

Rex's name has to be my favorite bit of story telling about him. Its a common dog name, sure, but its also latin for King. Considering you get him from The King and he has a background with the latin speaking faction (maybe even the monarchical ruler of said faction) it just serves to show how good New vegas' writing is.

I killed Swan once but then I found out about his origin and now I just avoid him when I play FO4. He is relatively easy to defeat if you at a high level with a jetpack and a Fat Man and/or quad recon missile launcher. On my first playthrough, I took a rather unconventional approach so by the time I followed the Freedom Trail and found Swan, I was at something like level 35.

So we unlock fusion energy which enables sci-fi level dream tech like fusion cores and micro fusion cells, which we use to power robots, cars, power armor, guns, and literally everything else in society, yet for some reason we are still fighting over fossils fuel based energy? What were we using it for, why was us so scarce, and why would we need to wage war to secure it? Biggest plot hole in fallout

Cooper Howard steps into the eggs of the Gulper. Nasty piles of gooey, slime covered eggs. Now, in fallout Far Harbor and Fallout 76 we do not ever see Gulper eggs, Mirelurk, not Gulper. So that was new. Also, that there were eggs means either, the West Coast Gulper that we see is either a female, and she 1) laid unfertile0 eggs, or that it was a male hunting for itself and a female and protecting the young. So that means they are fertile eggs, and are making more of them. Which is horrifying. Yick! There are other options for the Gulpers, but those are the 2 that stood out to me the most.

there are A lot of life lessons In New Vegas but one that the game Keep teaching you about is Letting go. we see this In A lot of Characters in New Vegas like Cass, Boone, Grandma Lily, and Raul, they're all attached and resentful to the past, to let go is the only way of peace, it's an important lesson We Should all consider in our lives. the past Can't come back we can only look forward
