Fallout 1 is so underrated

I played NV as my first Fallout during the pandemic. She was certainly my favorite character. Later, I worked in maintenance in a large dementia home, where her story sunk in even more. It was very nice to watch this video.

Lily is the one companion where I get genuinely torn up about what to do... I never let her stop the meds, that's clearly the worst choice, but the other two options feel wrong too. Let her half dose so she can keep some memories alive but be tortured by her dwindling mental state? Or let her full dose, giving her peace of mind through both stability and forgetting her tragic loss, but taking away the last thing she was trying to hold on to? It kills me every time, and though I love the character it makes me dread taking on her side story again 😅😢

Maybe a meteor hit earth wiping almost all life and a pice of earth became the second moon.

Her story doesn’t feel fair. She’s sacrificed so much even if she remembered that that holotape was important to her but couldn’t remember why it was that would be enough. My great grandma has dementia, but even in her state she remembers that her family mean something to her even if she can’t remember why. That and despite her state she’s still sharp as a whip with wit. You don’t recover from getting a clap back from a 97 year old woman who has dementia. My point is that she’s still her even without her memories and even if she can’t remember who I am she still remembers I’m important to her. I mean I’d prefer if grandma Lilly had the same fate as my other great grandmother (gets dementia, reads her favourite mystery novels for the first time again, recovers somehow (mom’s best guess is that she had a stroke but was misidentified, though she never lost mobility like that and could read so I’m just chalking this up to miracle statice) but that’s a bit. No I was going to say ridiculous, but it’s fallout, it’s more possible there than here and it happened here
