Just spent 3 days breeding rexes wrong. I had 1 male and 3 females with 3 melee mutations breeding, I thought I was doing so well as I had never done mutations before. I then made the biggest mistake ever. I killed every Rex before those apart from the first wild tamed ones as I thought I would never need them. I saw that they had 4 maternal and 7 patrilineal mutations so I got confused and remembered watching this when it first came out; I watched this to be sure I was stacking correctly. I’m glad I kept the original pair.

It seems stupid that a Dino will disappear if it hits the level cap. Why couldn’t they just make it impossible to go above that cap instead, so that if a creature gets enough levels to reach it, it stops earning experience points? Why do we need to be punished by losing our hard work just because the game didn’t stop us from doing something it can’t handle?

On my vanilla server on The Island, I found an argentavis with hot pink feet, dark red stomach, hot pink feathers, salmon pink hair on its head, and salmon pink feather tips. I assume the head and feather tips were white causing them to mix with the pink and become a salmon pink but ya

3:05 there is still a chance to get a mutation when you have over 20 mutations on both sides the chance is just lowered but it is still possible

dude back when the game first came out i was only breeding trying to figure out how mutations worked its amazing that we have come this far and its so simple now. i had a base on the little lava island that was covered with t-rex's all different colors as in i was curious about what you could do with the looks of your tames over the stats.

I tend to disagree that movement speed is a wasted mutation. And in point of fact I did get a rex with a movement speed mutation which DID boost it's move speed rate and it was awesome so I'm not quite sure how accurate that particular assertion is.

Good job on going in so in depth in such a short video! But people are gonna see this and think its easier than it actually is, I spent MONTHS using 100-200 females with 20-40 males trying to stack a bloodline of HP and a separate bloodline of Melee and only got up to a stack of 8 melee and like 11 HP before the unofficial server I was playing on got taken offline lol ALSO, the most frustrating part is having to keep looking for more wild dinos incase you find a higher base level, sometimes I had to restart a bloodline after a stack of 5 mutations because I or my tribemate found a higher base stat in the wild :l

This video is great it helped me a ton the only thing about it that I would change is tossing the mutated female I keep the female mate it with the perfect male being it has the mutation it will drop a male egg faster than you can get a new mutation…while I’m raising the female and using her to produce a male egg I work on the health mutation..after the female raises if I don’t get a male egg in couple days I clone it and get it fast you might find that wasteful but I’m on gen 2 so shards for cloning are easy..but your videos are awesome thank you

So let me explain so I understand and correct me if I’m wrong, so you take 2 non mutated dinos and each mutation increases the values on level up and overall base stats, to reset mutations breed with a non mutated one. I play Pokémon so would it be similar to that, use a ditto with decent ivs to breed with the mon of your choice and if you get a better one you replace the worse one and continue until you reach desired results

No. A 217 and a 224 can breed together. As long as theyre the same dino and opposite gender. You just wanna tame as many high lvls of that tame you want and pick the best of the stats you wanna mutate then get a base pair and mutate away lol

Question: So you never changed out your perfect females? When ever you get one you add it in too the brood, for you maximum egg gathering? And you always change rotate the male when you get the mutation you want? Do you never chafe out the female if you get the Stat mutation you want? I'm going to be breeding out my Shadowmanes (because they are awesome) and I want to make sure I do it right.

Yep stock up on as many females as you want to have with the perfect stats, every female should be un-mutated if you want to stack properly. If you have fast breeding settings then you probably only need 6-8 but if you have slow cooldown timers id say go for like 30-50 females. Discard mutated females, even if they have the desired stats.

And if I wanted to clone some I would have to clone the tames I've tamed not the tames that already have the mutated stats?

Let me dumb it down for more people, or at-least try to. You need to find high-leveled dinos with good base stats for either attack/health/stamina depending on what you want. I would assume to use a stat calculator for the Dinos youre trying to breed to see if its worth doing. (this is where i messed up by not checking the stats before starting the breeding process) My best bet would be to not level them up at all, (this is also where i messed up because i did not know the fathers base stats alongside the mother(s)) since player pressed level ups don't increase the babies stats. After that, youre aiming for the males materinal mutations on a Male baby. Everytime you get one, compare the babies stats with the fathers. This is where you compare and contrast the babies stats with the fathers. Essentially what youre going for is increase in stats for either health/attack/stamina by 2 points. If you notice a difference, then the mutation has worked and you can continue using the new baby Male as the breeder and so on and so on.
