Hey, first of all great video and explanation! I’ve been taming hight level pteranodons and i wrote everything down but the higher stats that i want to use are on 3 females. Should i breed one of them with a random other high male so i get a male with the same stats as the step dino i want to use? Or is there another way? Thanks

yeah, you just need a male to start the process. if all of your stats are on females any level male will do@@dennisdelsael1485

People tend to mislead people by saying there video is the best. I can honestly say I have over 4k hours in Evolved and have watched a lot of videos to try and understand how breeding and mutation works. This video so easily explains it all to me know. Thanks very much for your time and effort in making this video. People may complain about the length of the the video but I think it was perfectly done. Going through every repetitive step of the damage mutations helped drill it into me to the point that I finally understand it. You have a new subscriber!!

And this is one of the few videos that I have seen explaining negative mutations. Most people just say to double the females when you go over 20. Hands down the best breeding guide. I cannot express enough just how wonderful it is that you actually went through every step stage and scenario. AND it has chapters for easy reference! Loved your guides on ASE and im notnlying when i say they have gotten so much better to here now in ASA. Easy to follow, in depth, accurate, just the right amount of sidetracking and filler fluff to deeper explain without going off topic or confusing. I mean honestly this is/was/will be 2 hours gladly gladly spent. Sidenote i just want to mention how nice it is that the mutations correct themselves this time around and that its so much easier to transfer mutations from a female to a male and back into the breeding line without adding counts, such a good solid move and decision.

When I get a mutation on a female, I keep her but also let the main line keep breeding while she raises up. Sometimes I get a male before she's fully mature, sometimes I don't. I always keep her in a fridge as a backup either way

That is normally what we do as well, but it depends if we have stuff going on in the background irl. Definitely a good shout.

I put her in a pile with a "clean" or zero/zero male (preferably a base stat male). I am trying for a male baby with her mut. I keep the main pile breeding in case it gives me a mutated male before she does.

I think this might be the single best educational video I have ever watched regarding ark. I have over 1000 hours in the game and have ascended off of a couple maps in ASE, but most of the breeding I did was not optimal at all, and was very surface level breeding to maybe 5-10 mutations of a few different dinos. I love getting into the nitty gritty number based things so breeding and min maxing have always intrigued me, but I’ve never been able to fully understand it until now

Excellent video. I watched another on breeding, and she went way into the 'maths' without first explaining what was actually happening. You did a great job, thank you. Now I just need to find some higher level critters to tame. I don't know if it's our server's settings or what, but on our Extinction map all the wild critters seem to be very low level.

Just as a heads up the reason that you are finding lower level dinos on extinction is due to the fact that the "story maps" i.e. extinction scorched earth and the island all favor lower level dinos. You will have to travel to another map that is not a story map. Those maps will favor higher level dinos naturally. The center is a really good map for favoring higher level dinos.

Fantastic guide! Ihave over 1000 hours in ASE and 300 (and counting)in ASA and have never dove into breeding. My hours were focused on just basic taming, building, exploring, etc. I have never even beaten the game.
