Spoke to Carlos on the phone earlier. These guys are the nicest, friendly and most helpful folk you'll meet. I recommend if you can afford it, really just pay for the express. Got my package here in GB 🇬🇧 within 4 days over the weekend from Syntaur in Texas. Best Wishes.

Have you considered possibly getting with a 3-D printing company for any of the 'last of its kind' parts?

Would love to see a video regarding troubleshooting techniques. Not just involving keyboard mechanisms but also component level board repairs. Finding and diagnosing problems, And the tools that help you do this quickly and easily. It doesn’t have to be strictly synths, it could be a wide range of things even consumer-electronics if that something that interest you. Or troubleshooting some of the test equipment used. Like restoring an old oscilloscopes and stuff like that. Of course if you don’t have any interest in these things then you can completely disregard. But I think that a lot of your audience would find that interesting. Troubleshooting electronics in industrial equipment is Kind of my full-time job… But I enjoy nothing more than hearing how other professionals approach the topic. Thanks for all you do!

I’d like to add something to my above comment… There are ways that our businesses are very similar. I mostly focus on component level board troubleshooting and repair on manufacturing and industrial equipment. With a bit of test equipment calibration and metrology thrown in to keep it interesting. I’m always dealing with unobtainable or out of production parts… Where something I’m repairing hasn’t had available replacement parts in decades. Either because it’s been out of production, or with modern equipment… It’s such a high end or niche product… The company never offered any replacement parts or servicing information. That’s just one of the ways our businesses are similar, and I’m very sympathetic to your pain finding parts! And explaining these issues to customers.

ESPECIALLY With older or hard to replace eprom and data, always make sure you have a copy or multiple copies of everything before trying to change anything at all. That way if anything does go wrong… Which is very common… You don’t lose a program or function thats extremely hard to find and replace. EPROM chips are dirt cheap. No reason not to keep the original EPROM and program separate, Hidden away in a box for later. and order a new chip for a few dollars to write the updated program on. That way you’ve always got back up. I never understood friends and coworkers who will rewrite an E prom chip, writing over the original with no back up on hand… Instead of spending four dollars for a new chip and keeping the original stored as back up or to maintain originality.

Would the volume of orders you send overseas be large enough to warrant sending all orders of a week or so by courier to the destination continent and have someone dispatch over there?

You should open a new distribution center for European customers in Braunfels, Germany to fix the shipping issues. ;)
