Synth Fun - Dual Filters

A lot of live playing with multiple filters on the pro 2 and virus ti. I show some ideas of what can be done with them. I didn't have time to do a voice over the playing parts so used text in place of. Some cool vibes.

I have an Iridium and I love playing around with the dual stereo filters on it and creating some really neat sounds like this! Was also really cool to see someone using the Access Virus interface plugin! I used to have a Snow back in the day and loved using it with my computer :D

Virus Control is pretty cool! It has been relatively stable for me. The comb filter is not as good as Waldorf's I think. I tried the Blofeld's and said ah this sounds good! Iridium looks like an amazing instrument. Do you use the grain stuff often?

@@ModIcore I use it quite often. It's got a lot of depth and customization you can apply to it. There's also a good bit of it you can modulate as well! I really should do more videos on it

@@TokyoScarab Oooo you have iridium videos awesome! I will check them out sometime. I am interested in granular synthesis because my brain just does not compute it well haha I want to buy a Waldorf synth, but worry about quality issues. I think they moved production back to Germany for their recent gear though.

@@ModIcore I think the Iridium is really great and honestly worth the money once you get into all it is capable of. That said, it is quite pricey. I've been in the Iridium Facebook group and see some of the issues people post with their units. Most of the issues I've seen seem to be with the Quantum units and not as much the Iridium Desktop units. That said, I've been very fortunate and haven't had any issues with mine. One thing I think the Iridium does incredibly well is visually display almost every aspect of the interface and sound design parameter. I would even go so far as to argue it's the best visual interface of any hardware synth I've ever used. It really makes a lot of things very approachable especially when the Iridium is a very deep deep synth. Even with its depth, I think it's super approachable and is just very inspiring to twiddle knobs and create fun sounds. The visuals also work super well in the granular interface and I think show it well and help you picture it in your head.

Hello! Just found your channel. 👍 In the beginning of this video you talked a bit about a new motherboard with classic (old) PCI slots. This is exactly what I need for my older sound devices! 😊 But when I looked it up, it doesn’t have PCI slots (just the newer ones). Was yours custom designed? Or did I just misunderstood.

Hey there! Glad you're with us 😄. This motherboard does have one x1 PCI slot. If you go to the spec section and go past PCIE to chipset(it's right below PCIE) you will see it says just PCI. Here is a link to the board: www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B760M-D3H-DDR4-rev-10#kf if you're still having difficulties, I can take a screen shot of the manual showing it. Just note that it is micro-atx! That was kind of a deal breaker for me as I wanted expandability.

@@one23johnson Sounds good! It will have the stock presets mixed in as I think it'l dump the whole bank. I think I have around the first 30 presets saved and some far out like 50 and 60 when i'm rushing and forget what to save over, but they're all for my videos and called init. I will say the patch numbers for the dual filters when I send

Haha thank you! I am quite nervous about how my interface takes the new board. I bet you I end up needing a new one anyways. I had one MFB piece and that was the Dominion 1. It sounded great, but it felt like an unfinished product. I kept trying to get the Korg Mono/poly format and tone in a current instrument and I think the closest is the Pro 2 (if only it had analog osc!).
