@@goodname3838 The "sostenuto" (not sure about how it is written) pedal let you the possibility to do so: you press the note, then the pedal, then you let go the note and you can press it a second time. (It's not easy but physically possible.)

unless he's talking about how like the green and purple part overlap, in that case, it's because you need a second piano. green / blue are one person, and red / purple are another.
