@@viocaia yes it’s excellent and my E-70 is in excellent condition. At the moment he’s safely tucked away in a good quality padded carry case and I’ll dig him out again soon.

I have never seen those display break. There is a contrast potentiometer at the back of the keyboard. Have you tried turning that?

Of course, no response. The problem is with the rubber inside, someone probably tried to fix it before and it's ruined. I didn't look too much for a replacement but I'm pretty sure it is a modern replacement on the market.

Of course you have to open it, there is a board on the left (viewed from the keys) very easy to replace.
