This was the first keyboard I ever purchased... Thought it was just a multi featured keyboard, not knowing that this is a pretty darn nice synth... Still have it, as I am a pack rat. Just turned it on today and all is well, fully functioning... Best thing about this unit, I paid 50 bucks for it.... It is in great shape. Yes, I am looking for the traveler pedal also.... EDIT.... Not that anyone would care, but, after playing this synth last night, I decided to clean/ dust it off, including the travel lid that is part of this synth's case/chassis... Well, in the lid i found the traveler pedal and cord.. Did not remember that I had it... Plugged it in and works great....

@@jasonmcgary Jason, I am so busy, my job site is 310 miles from home, I stayed in a hotel most of last year, but, I will try to do just that... It may take a couple of weeks, and thankfully, this job is about wrapped up, and I should be home in about 2 weeks.

Great hair mate, and I’m reduced to tears by the beauty of this synth for whatever odd reason!

I think this is the synth Alvvays uses. Really cool.

Great demonstration of this instrument with a typical 70's korg sound, thanks above all to the traveler filter. I believe that at minute 5:54 by chorus he means modulation of the pulse width of the square wave

Wow, there is a hell of a lot of character with this thing. Thanks so much for showing it off and all it's bell and whistles. Beautiful!

Yeah. It's a pity we can't do those in virtual form. I don't know if we have the proessing power to do those multichannel engines like the Crumoar Orchestrator, Sequential Circuits Preluide. Yamaha SK series or any of those symphonic/ensemble instruments. If we did, we could make more realistic sounding ones using samples of the real instruments they were imitationg

Thank you for the great video. I picked up a PE 1000 around 10 years ago. Came complete, both traveler and glide pedals included. It’s my favorite vintage synthesizer.

Damn, those Poly-Ensembles all sound fantastic, especially the S and P version, but the original as well.

Wonderful. I love this time/era of synths. I used to go the synth shops back then as my oasis. This particular one is very useful. Did Greg Hawkes of the Cars have one? Anyway, it sounds awesome. Cheers.

I had this back in the 90s. I had this on top of my Rhodes. I really liked the sound but had to sell it (along with my Rhodes) to survive tough times at uni. Mine was a little differnt to this though... did not have the "P" designation... was just Polyphonic Ensemble PE1000.... my fav sound was the PIPE organ... I also had the rare footpedal. This actually sounds much better than I remember... I'd love to have one again as I think it would sound wonderful through a Strymon...

Did you ever get full sustain? I recently got one of these and am getting some repair done on it. Even on the Presets with no controls, I get about 12 seconds of Sustain and it is tapering off GREAT Demo by the way

It's primitiveness wasn't enough for me to keep mine. The Traveler expression foot pedal can also be used with the 770 and the 800DV.

So "sustain" is really "release"...?
@StephenLearson5 жыл бұрын
Ronald Figura yeah, I guess the terminology wasn’t uniform back in the 70’s. It would way cooler if synth filter sections were all known as “Travelers”
