Trav, I train like this once a week and what my coach tells me is try and lean forward is such a way your head and eyes especially, and hands far out front, trust me when you are in that stance your eyes and senses will feel more engaged, it's surreal, just one tendie tip for another

Another thing I'm seeing as I watch this is you may need to work on staying low and keeping your feet set, ready to go down at a moments notice, should a shot come to you. I don't know if that's an effect it has on you due to the synthetic ice, since I haven't been on a sheet that new, but it'd be really hard to go down from the position you're in as you're doing these first skating drills

Worked and trained at a facility that had about 5 years of life before they had to strip and refinish. Facility had about 5 hrs of players and goalies a day, 5 days/ week. The stuff is durable.
