Current price for the Twin Pack 0W-20 Full Synthetic motor oil at Costco is $26.99 which works out to $13.50 per jug or $2.70 per quart. This is a Mult-Pack deal. Walmart's equivalent deal would be their 12 Quart box of 0W-20 Full Synthetic Motor Oil which is $29.86 which works out to $2.49 per quart. Costco = $2.70 per quart - Walmart = $2.49 per quart. Conclusion ---> Walmart is still cheaper. Yes - Walmart/Kirkland/Amazon synthetic motor oils are all made by Warren Distribution, the biggest private label oil distributor in the U.S. No they are not the EXACT same oil formulations but they are very similar. Warren has a dedicated team of in-house tribologists/formulators that custom formulate each private label brand to desired/requested performance characteristics and that exact formulation then becomes exclusive to the particular label. Kirkland brand has slightly higher AW agents. (An advantage if you constantly floor the pedal and always redline your engine). Supertech (Walmart) has slightly higher TBN rating (can safely run the oil longer without acidic buildup) and superior viscosity index spread characteristics (flows better at lower temps), which would be better (than Kirkland/Amazon) for people that put a lot of miles on their car and thus want to run their oil as long as safely possible and also for colder climates. Amazon Basics Full Synthetic is also very similar to both Kirkland and Supertech but with slightly higher detergents/dispersants so would be the best choice (versus Kirkland/Supertech) lf a person has a car with a dirty engine that could really benefit from the extra detergents/dispersants. All 3 brands are very good oils and you can choose which would be best for your particular situation based on your car and the advantages that each of these different brands offer. Prices do fluctuate from time to time due to sale and such, but Walmart's Supertech is usually the cheapest at $2.49 per quart for the 12 quart box.

This oil was $25 and sometimes goes on sale for $21 but now in 2023 it goes for $38 huge increase

This is 100% Mag 1. Comparing PDS they are 100% the same and both made by Warren. I use Kirkland in my 2020 Tundra 5.7 and no doubt it is a very good oil.

Here in the Los Angeles, CA area, my local Costco has it for $24.99. It was on sale $3.00 off. So it brings it down to $21.99 but, there is an $0.70 “Oil Fee” not sure if it’s a California thing or everywhere has this oil fee. Anyhow, $11.34 for a Full Synthetic 5QT oil! Can’t beat that. Used it on a 2011 Sentra and I bought a 0w-20 for an 18 Odyssey.

Also, I realized that, despite the cheap prices for the Kirkland Signature Motor Oil, not a ton of people buy it, they lean towards the Mobil 1. The question is, how long Costco is going to offer the Kirkland Oil. I hope it stays forever.
