Can you make a video about whether or not shadow of the colossus ( remake) is overrated?
@SyntheticMan4 жыл бұрын
Does the remake improve anything other than the graphics or is this just a review request specifically for the remake. But either way, sure, why not? I like the original, so I'll check out the remake.
@platinum29054 жыл бұрын
@@SyntheticMan i have not played the original, but this remake didn't blow me away. The controls and the camera are just terrible. And that comes from a guy who played resident evil 4 while aiming with my keyboard back in the day. I expected more tbh, and the game has a very nice tone and concept, but the story in the middle is nowhere to be found. The whole game is you going to the next collosi and climbing on it's furry parts, and yeah i guess this game kicked ass back in the day, but now it serves as a proving point to me that some games should not be remade and just left alone in history.

@@SyntheticMan Bluepoint’s schtick is that they take old games and give them a fresh coat of paint, only overhauling the graphics and making minor QOL adjustments. They did it with Colossus, and they did it with demon’s souls.

Enter the Gungeon is another excellent rogue-lite imo. I didn't have so many RNG issues with it like you did with Noita. It's more of a bullet hell than Noita though so get ready for that if you try it. But for the most part you'll definitely get it down with practice. I find it easier than others like Risk of Rain 1, and I'd assume Noita as well from your review here. The dodge roll mechanic helps make it feel less BS when you die too.

RNG PERKS AND WANDS END RUNS i agree even me who is a veteran at this game and i know where the permanent health picks up are you basically learn the exploits to "have an auto win" and i hate that drilling stack the perk statue thing it seems like an exploit than a feature
@prltqdf94 жыл бұрын
1:23 It looks like the wand has a projectile spell and a shield(?) spell of sorts and you fired twice in a row too quickly and at such a right angle that it made the projectile spell hit the shield, bounce back and kill you.

This game looks decent, not really my kind of game. Just makes me want to play Super Metroid. Even more so that Aliens Infestation game made by Wayforward, but that one is sadly stuck on Nintendo DS. There are a few Indies coming that do look interesting to me. Like: Brutal Fate, Core Decay, and Trepang2. Plus two remasters of two classic FPS 90s games, Sin and Kingpin: Life of Crime. Wish they'd remaster Soldier of Fortune 1&2 as well. Do you own Return to Castle Wolfenstein on Steam? Highly recommend trying out RealRTCW Mod. Definitely my favorite Wolfenstein though it took me 20 years to finally complete it on the original hardest difficulty. As for Cyberpunk 2077. I returned my console copy and will wait to see if they actually fix the game on either PS5 or Xbox Series X. Didn't get either yet, but best to avoid the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Any thoughts on that Cyberpunk VN on Steam and soon Nintendo Switch game that became a recent target of the outrage mobs? Devs/publishers didn't bend the knee. Lots of rage and even death threats...
@SyntheticMan4 жыл бұрын
I'll have to check out those indie games. Just bought Return to Castle Wolfenstein after seeing it was $1.50. Just checked out that VN and good on Top Hat studios for not bending the knee to the outrage mob. Kinda weird that this is coming up now, since it looks like the game came out on steam back in August but I guess twitter users are a lot more likely to own a Switch than a gaming PC. Here's hoping more Indie devs ignore the maniacs on Twitter.
@Gruntvc4 жыл бұрын
@Synthetic Man, Trepang2 does have a fun demo on Steam. Closest game to FEAR at the moment. Brutal Fate is made by the same guy who made Brutal Doom. So, closest you're likely gonna get to an official retail release of that. Core Decay is claiming to be an immersive sim FPS like Deus Ex. Nice, you can install RealRTCW Mod on Steam too. Recommend following the directions to install it properly and the options to select to get a steady Frame rate. I think The controversy started because the game is supposed to release soon digitally on Nintendo Switch without any censorship. It is rated M, but the outrage mobs were angered by this and the devs/publishers didn't care. I don't usually play VN games, but good on them for not bending the knee. Btw, did you play Rare games like: Banjo Kazooie, Jet Force Gemini, or Conker's Bad Fur Day? Just found out some ex Rare devs made a little indie game for PS4 and Steam called, Tamarin, that looks like a mix between a cutesy platforms and 3rd person shooter. Tamarin looked interesting, but its full price is a bit high on both console and pc. The steam version requires a controller to play too. Wish there was a demo.
@SyntheticMan4 жыл бұрын
@@Gruntvc I'll have to check out Tamarin because I love some of Rare's N64 titles. Yooka-Laylee though...not so much. Are the Tamarin devs more talented then the ones that formed Playtonic?
@Gruntvc4 жыл бұрын
@Synthetic Man, I don't think it's the same devs who did Yooka. Tamarin is their 1st game. As for talent, the guy who did Tamarin's music is the same one that composed Donkey Kong Country. And if you check out the trailer or any gameplay vids, definitely looks like these former Rare devs worked on Jet Force Gemini. It looks like a cross between a collectathon like Banjo Kazooie and the 3rd person shooting action of Jet Force Gemini. I'm not sure Tamarin is worth the full $29.99 price though. It's not on sale on PS4, but it is a few dollars off on Steam. Only found out about Tamarin thanks to a random KZbin ad. It released back in September. No physical copy either.

Hey synth, I haven’t been on yt for a while for a few reasons, but if your channel does get deleted I really do think you should continue not reviewing modern games but instead start only streaming on rumble or odyssey if your channel kicks the bucket. You have a dedicated audience who will follow you there, you can make a new streaming channel/ podcast successful and you can still be an influence. Just don’t completely give up on an internet career if KZbin is no longer an option. You can make a difference in more ways than one

I hate that people call Noita, Binding of Isaac, etc. roguelikes. There's actual games that adapt the fundamental gameplay of rogue, like Elona or Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, so calling games that have no similarities besides high difficulty/permadeath and random elements is not only stupid because it includes everything from bullet hells to Minecraft, but also obscures a real genre of games that's already underappreciated.
