If you're ever by WV I got Suzuki samurai we can do a video on. Got a new carb on it and has about 50-70 miles on it. It leaks now all gaskets ,seals must dried out something. It's new national carburator was fine put on. Now leaks some do a fuel treatment on it and oil change. Bring a 1988 Suzuki back to life. Thanks hope to hear from you.

I want to keep it like that as it's mostly a woods runner. Not really a basher just a weekend outing type deal that I would do little more in because don't need to be worried about daily driver. I have a 2011 GMC Savana 15 passenger van with the 6.6 Duramax LGH. I got it used with 32k miles. Did my first oil change shorty after with Amsoil. I speculated that she burned oil, especially with towing. Around a quart ever 3k miles. I used the Amsoil flush for the next two oil changes and now she doesn’t lose a drop. The rings were probably held up a bit due to the oil that the previous owner received at his local quick lube joint.

Great video, I have a 2020 ram 1500 classic with 50k miles and I swapped the entire drivetrain fluids to AMSOIL. I’m a believer. Better MPG, smoother shifts, t-case engages quietly. All around better running truck. Oil is cheap and drivetrains are not.

I've been using 0w20 in place of the 5w20 with awesome results.. If anyone wanted to step up to a lighter oil it will be just fine. You might even squeeze a few extra MPG... Thanks for the Video Eben.. A big shout-out to Aaron for sharing his Civic

Yeah basically it's an updated technical bulletin so a lot of the newer cars all come with 020 and it's all backwards compatible so you can run 0w20 with all the other. The biggest benefit is it just has a little bit more cold flow additive packages so when it's colder it flows a little better at the cold start but they're very close

I switched to Amsoil SS in my '13 Mitsubishi Lancer a couple years ago. I have always noticed a smoother running car after an oil change and of course I did when I switched to Amsoil SS. But here is the thing, I no longer experience those "smoother running car" oil changes. After running SS for just 10k miles I replaced the oil with SS again, but didn't notice a change. My car was running just as smooth with the old 10k mile SS. I changed it way to early. Next time I ran the car about 17k miles before changing the oil. Guess what? When I put a new batch of SS in I didn't notice a difference again, meaning after 17k miles, SS was still performing excellent. In my 30 odd years of doing my own oil changes on my cars since my teen years, I have never experienced an oil that I could put that many miles on and not experience a smoother running car after an oil change (besides, I would not trust another oil with such a long change interval). Despite the fact that Amsoil SS was still performing like new oil after 17k miles I have decided to go with a 15k mile oil change interval. SS is guaranteed for 25k but I rideshare my car so 15k is what a have settled on since the Amsoil filter is rated for 15k. BTW, my car has about 146k miles but barely burns any oil. In 15k miles I may have to top off with a quart or less. Motor oil gets all the attention folks, but let me tell you, don't overlook your transmission and drivetrain! I know transmissions, transfer cases and differentials are more difficult to service but it's worth it. After my experience with SS, I switched from Mitsubishi CVT fluid to Amsoil CVT (which is 100% synthetic as well), and my transmission has never been quieter, or smoother. I notice that it will run smoother in the winter cold before it has time to warm up vs the Mitsubishi fluid as well. Don't neglect your transmission and drivetrain! They are just as important as your engine! My car is buttery smooth now. Better than when I bought it with 60k miles. Amsoil for the win!

I will have to try this on my dad’s 06 Honda accord. have to pour 1-2 quarts every 3rd day or so. eats as much oil it does gas lol. I’ve used amsoil in all my own vehicles. have it in my 06 dodge ram 2500 5.9 Cummins diesel around 144,000 miles on it. runs smoothly and very little soot comes out tailpipe when an acceleration. and got it from last owner that did no maintenance on it! it’s in better hands now lol. even used amsoil in my phantom ultralight airplane ✈️! took exhaust manifold off at 100 hour inspection and pistons still looked brand new as day they were installed. and also no carbon buildup at all that was back in 1995 when someone introduced me to amsoil. I figured if it works this good in my ultralight airplane ✈️,than see what it does for my vehicles. it is more expensive,but in the long run it does save money and engines run better.

Hey eben, I have got one of those R18 motors on one of my civics, the motor really really likes 5w30! Even more on high heat! They actually ship it with 5w30 in japan and south america because there is not so strict pollution laws. Give it a try on theese R18s, they will feel much better, smoother, peppier and it will lower temps and stop consumption

Yeah I think for around town for fuel mileage you're better with the 0:20 but I think you're right if you were going to be doing the autocross I would definitely do the 5:30 Dominator racing oil that's got the modifiers for Less friction so you make more wheel horsepower👍 The other thing that's awesome is the power Duo my personal favorite and that's the upper cylinder lubricant and the Dominator octane booster together and I did a video here on my car showing the power difference. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4qaiYaiar57fMk

The knocking is because of carbon in the combustion Chambers so what I would recommend is a bottle of the pi performance improver that's that red bottle the other thing that'll make a huge difference is the power Duo which I love to use when it's over 109° in Vegas I personally run it in my car gets rid of any pre-ignition and you also make quite a bit better fuel mileage because the burn is a lot cleaner it's the Dominator octane booster and the upper cylinder lubricant together😃

To fix clogged fuel injectors you would need to add a fuel system additive into the gas tank, adding oil additive in the oil filler spout would do nothing for the injectors. Unless that's a GDI-only engine, but even then the impact on fuel injectors would be minimal because GDI injectors work at like 4000 PSI. The reason that an oil additive might fix oil burning is that you'd be cleaning the combustion chamber, reducing buildup which might be slightly impeding on proper sliding of the pistons in the cylinder, thereby improving cylinder compression.

The problem with some models is they may not have a sensor for oil level and if the oil burns or vaporizes it will be lower than you think. I had a 1994 Ford Taurus and I remember the oil light came on once, I ended up adding almost two quarts of oil before being full, so yes check your oil dipstick from time to time. Also with the change from high tension piston rings to lower tension piston rings I have noticed some newer cars will actually burn more oil than the older models.

Proof is in the pudding, so to speak. I appreciate the honesty and truth behind these videos and testimonials. I purchased a used 2008 duel sport motorcycle and from another video from the channel followed the advice. Amazing immediate results from the dirt bike oil. Next purchase was Amsoil gear oil for a shaft driven motorcycle and transmission oil change, again immediate difference smooth shifting and torque improved. I tried P.I. gasoline improver in the duel sport to see what would happen, after a few pops and bangs a grey puff of smoke out the exhaust the bike no longer hesitates to climb up RPM range. So I’m sold on Amsoil. I recently purchased a used mini cooper that is known for oil burning after i fix the blown head gasket, I’m using Amsoil for the rebuild can’t wait for the results. Thinking of using Amsoil. Thing is when you have an old v8 which burns 1 quart to 800-1000 mls from factory new because it was normal for this engine back in the day. Amsoil is an expensive oil to use in this situation.

That's what I used to think until I tried it once you see the difference in how much it burns you will be very impressed and will actually save you quite a bit more money because you'll burn about half the amount of oil or less also your catalytic converter will last longer because it won't have as much buildup in it the other big benefit is the motor will last longer better compression

This oil flush product really cleans piston compression and oil rings, by removing burnt on oil varnish, carbon and sludge from the compression/oil rings and piston grooves it really improves compression and stops oil burning and also helps stop the pistons from pushing oil into the combustion chamber. This cleaning also helps leave Amsoil clinging to valve train components. I know this product works because I use it on my Subaru, Dodge Challenger and Honda Pilot.

When I first started using Amsoil over a year ago I had a 45 min highway commute and 90% of my driving were highway miles and had hardly any oil burned after 12k miles. I know live somewhere where my work commute is less than 10 minutes and have barely driven my suv since I changed the oil like 6 months ago and to my surprise a full quart burned off when I checked the other day- is there a correlation and should you change your oil more frequently when you are not putting many miles on it? Or something else altogether?

Yeah usually with the signature series you want to change it every year. Also you want to keep an eye on the oil level I recommend checking it at least every month depending on how much you're driving

06:57 I have a car with 460,000 miles and it burns 1 qt every 2,300 miles. We have accidently ran it dry on oil like 20 times and while the engine was knocking real bad for a few days a few times until we got paid and bought oil, it never hurt the car. I honestly think some engines don't really care that much, of course you have to add oil and no engine will go 5,000 miles with no oil in the engine, some engines are not that "picky"...This is a 21 year old car that we don't really care about, but it just keeps going and going...

Great vid Eban, I need to order another shipment for my late oil change. I had a new short block installed in my Hyundai under warranty, but now it's time to change their oil and filter. I'm near Phoenix Az, Hyundai says 5- 20 is standard, but can go to 5-30 for worse conditions. What do you think? @ George Eben is referring to Amsoil higher micron rating and efficiency rating. And if you pay close attention you can see that's a normal wix filter not the xp wix. Wix regular series is not bad Wix XP is better. Amsoil filter is great too.

Good video. It entirely accurate about full synthetic using only 25 synthetic. Group 3plus base oil is as good as Polyalpha olefin and in some cases can be better. Major producers will not cheat while others, well who knows.

Great video! I've changed the transmission fluid to Amsoil on both my 2019 Honda Civics and they run so much smoother. I added the Upper Cylinder Product and PI Gas Treatment to both cars and all total they run so well! Changing one oil using the high-end Amsoil Synthetic on one of the Hondas next week and will post the results. All in all our house is a big fan of Amsoil and thank Eben for his help!

There's many things that could cause the loss of acceleration so that would definitely have to be diagnosed. As far as performance in fuel mileage will definitely be improved with the p performance Improvement gasoline additive. The signature series motor oil will clean your engine from the inside out so you will have a better smoother running engine. I highly recommend it if you're going to be keeping the car. Now there could be something else wrong with the vehicle so I would definitely have someone take a look at it that does a lot of work on that vehicle. I wonder if I should try this for my 07 Camry four cylinder that burns a ton of oil? It’s thirstier than a college football player. 1567 miles on the current oil and I’ve already added almost four quarts of oil to it. I do 3000 mile oil changes instead of the 5000 because it just consumes so much oil. Some how it still runs great, I’ve been driving it like this for 40000 miles since I’ve owned the car.

This fuel injector cleanerars just marketing gimmicks. I have used injector cleaners from the companies like liquimoly, red line , royal purple etc. Doesn't do nothing. But i use amsoil signature series 0w20. I am a big fan of amsoil signature series. Best oil ever

If it's turbo personally I would use it every single oil change I have been on my car and I know it's made quite an improvement since the day I got it it has loosened up a little more and it's making more power and it's also running smoother it's taken about two oil changes and two flushes to really clean it up and when I got my car it started at only 42,000 miles. That's a great question you can flush it anytime you think it's a good time to do it the flush is safe to use every oil change I personally do it on my car every oil change because it has a turbo and those have a lot of oil cooking where it burns inside I recommend flushing a diesel every time. Thicker oil will not prevent the burning that's because of the carbon deposits you have to get that around the Rings out so the film can flow around the Rings then it can seal off the piston rings without that oil flow around the oil ports that go around the Rings you won't have that hydrodynamic element and you'll still have the burning you could put 50 weight oil in and it would still burn oil

Secret is DO NOT buy a Honda 😂. They are known for overheating to begin with and if you have to own one put a heated oil air separator . Also for high mileage engines don’t bother rebuilding it , just replace with low mileage engine
