This could have been a good bit faster, honestly. If you were to use your satchel bombs in the opposite direction you're running, you avoid taking damage from them while getting a speed boost. If you're concerned with speed, don't save your satchels for anything. Gauge using them when you have them. One charge may give you a boost, but three may give you a better boost that's worth more than using one charge.

I am aware of this, and I am also aware that I have hardly played optimally here. The thing with the satchels however is that I don't believe that wasting them just for the speed will end up being faster than using them on enemies. Due to me abusing the double starting module my movement speed should be very fast as long as I was reloading optimally (which I wasn't), and once you get to the teleporter the issue starts of being able to clear nearby enemies as fast as possible so that the teleporter can charge unhindered. That's where the satchels come in, they provide an additional DPS in those situations which means less time spent on killing enemies. I am sure that there situations where wasting the satchels is the proper action but they should be the exception not the rule. Ideally you should be both killing enemies and getting the boost. But that requires getting good.
