Is there an explanation for the TAS's movement? I really want to know the details of the quick rolls, because c-rolls aren't that fast. It looks like it's a jump-crouch movement, but upon trying it, it still doesn't seem as fast due to some delay before being able to go to the ground again. It may be human error, though. Also, I thought slash rolls (don't remember the name) were the fastest, so I'd like to know why the TAS sometimes opts for the rolls I mentioned. Thanks! This is super cool, love it!

Here's an explanation for the SCSCS (the slash rolling thing that you can see) - Scuffed roll is a roll that is done after a near horizontal slash that's only a little bit slashed upwards, this gives zero just a little bit of upwards speed and so if you crouch roll during it you preserve that momentum upwards for the whole duration of the roll. If you travel far enough upwards zero stops being treated as if he were on the ground but in the air (around 8 frames into the scuffed roll), however due to the game having coyote frames (a thing that lets you roll in mid-air for around 8 frames after you stop touching the ground) zero continues to roll for 8~ more frames afterwards for a total of ~16 frames. If you then use slowmo during the second stage of a scuffed roll the coyote frames of zero being in mid-air get removed which will kick him out of the roll even sooner (coyote frames last for around 8 frames). The reason why all of this saves time is because a roll decelerates over time (it starts off at 22 speed and decreases by 0.5 every frame and a roll itself lasts for 22 frames). So you want to maximise the amount of time you spend in the first half of the frame which you do by using a scuffed roll to cut off a roll in the middle and instantly begin another crouch roll instantly. You then cut off the crouch roll in the middle by using a slash after which you begin a scuffed roll which completes a loop. Roll cancels are the thingy that you see when zero jumps up and begins a new roll it uses the same principle of breaking the second slow half of a roll but with a slow-mo jump and a quick fall, though the reason why it's slower than SCSCS is because you have to wait too long to jump up and fall again where zero is quite slow. Also you shouldn't try these techs as human since they require TAS precision to actually pull off and be quick (besides roll cancels they can be actually used by humans, although they end up being used in not that many situations because c-rolls are still faster for humans)

Also what you're likely talking about in regards to the cuts is in fact quick restarting, which is restarting a room right after it starts to get a more favourable starting position or enemy position (you can see it in the last room in hotel).

yeah, there's a thingy called a scuffed roll which is essentially just doing a frame perfect crouch roll after a near perfect horizontal slash, if you do that then zero gets kicked out of the roll early and so you can then roll again.
